texas: Basketball Tournaments to be Held in Katy

Katy will be the sight of the 2008 men's and women's basketball tournament for the Southland Conference. The conference announced today that the sight of the tournament will be the Leonard E. Merrell Center. The tournament will be held from March 12-16, 2008. Owned by the Katy Independent School District, the Merrell Center was completed in the Spring of 2005 and has been the host of a wide variety of events from graduation ceremonies to home games for the local IFL team the Katy Ruff Riders. In my MeMe that I wrote the other day I included a photo of my dog Rebel and my cat Maxwell. Jackie read it and immediately the question was "Where are Bingo and Cody?". Well, after much prodding I am finally getting around to it. Bingo is one of the most loving cats you'll ever meet. He is not one of those stand-offish cats that only wants attention on his terms. Jackie and I took a couple of weeks this year for our annual pilgrimage to Nebraska. Now I know that this is not exactly a vacation hot spot, but it's where her parent's live and since we don't get to see them much, this is where we spend the vacation time. We go once a year, and I have to say that I learned a very valuable lesson this year. I learned how to relax! Every year we go, and every year I work harder while I'm there.
