Pretty good news overall.
RE the Wallow fire...The Wallow Fire burning in Eastern Arizona is now 58 percent contained by a crew of 3,389. Though the fire is now at 529,825 acres, only one of the fire's three "zones" is actively burning outside the perimeter. The other two zones are creeping and smoldering through unburned interior islands, according to incident officials.

Well, we're down to the last game to get to 8 wins. And the Sun Devils would just love to beat us at home and push our final record to a mundane 7-4, after a great 7-1 start, rubbing our noses in it.
In this in state rivalry records seldom predict the outcome.
We need to play much better than we did against Oregon. A full 60 minutes, by the way.

LAVA Music Presents The Kevin Pakulis Band in Concert for their latest release CD "Shadesville".
The Kevin Pakulis Band is all about solid songwriting and great musicianship. Kevin's band members are Larry Lee Lerma on bass, Duncan Stitt on keyboards, and Ralph Gilmore on drums. Their music is often referred to as Americana, the no man's land where the lines between rock, blues, and country disappear.
Kevin is a local favorite and has entertained Tucson audiences extensively since the release of his debut album Yeah Yeah Yeah in 2004.

MUSICIAN ERNEST TROOST IN CONCERT AT ABOUNDING GRACE CHURCH SATURDAY 11/13/2010
Emmy-award winning composer Ernest Troost will perform this Saturday night in the Abounding Grace Sanctuary.
Troost has written over 100 movie and TV scores in his prolific career. He has won the prestigious Kerr New Folk award for songwriting. His music can be considered a combination of folk and blues guitar picking.
The concert will be from 7to 9 Pm. Abounding grace is located at 2450 S. Kolb Road.
Admission is $15.
The show is one of a continuing series presented by Lava Music and Bonnie Vining.

One of the all time great rock guitarists, Lofgren has played with Bruce Springsteen's E Street band, played with Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band, and played on the Amnesty International Tour.
When he's not on tour somewhere, he lives in Scottsdale, with his wife of 12 years, Amy.
He'll be at the Fox Theatre in concert Saturday the 13th of November. The show starts at 7:30 PM. Opening for Lofgren will be Tom Walbank.

On Saturday November 13ththe 6-3 USC Trojans come to Tucson to face the now 7-2 Wildcats.
We need to look forward, not backward. It will feel good to be 8-2 at the end of the game on Saturday night.
While the Trojans are only 6-3 and banned from post season play, their constant success in the recruiting wars means they are always loaded at each position. The Wildcats need to be at their best Saturday.

We lost 42-17. I think it could have been worse. Of course we were down to one true starting quarterback, and Nick Foles wasn't 100%. And the game was on the road. And Stanford was ranked above us in the polls. And Andrew Luck is pretty darn good.
We get USC at home next weekend. They blew ASU out tonight,BY ONE LOUSY POINT, but ASU was also on the road. So maybe ASU was homered? Sorry.
Maybe it's just not safe for Devils and Cats to venture away from home.
