daytona beach broker: Why Do I Live On The Beachside? - 06/13/11 05:42 PM
Daytona Beachside is a narrow barrier island, from a few hundred yards wide to less than half a mile in its widest point. It is just a few city blocks between the Intracoastal Waterway (also called Halifax River) and the Atlantic Ocean.
Of course, it is about the proximity to the ocean and the beach, which I love so much. I takes me 6-7-minute walk to get to the beach. This is priceless (and I am not advertising Visa or MasterCard – lol).
Another reason is mosquitoes and flies of any kind. With constant breeze and salt in the air we practically do not have … (18 comments)

daytona beach broker: Branding Zero, Zilch, Nada .. Is Still Nothing - 01/10/10 02:06 PM
Amy Hahn posted What Brand Are You? Do you think Branding is Important?. The post is about branding, and describes how Amy attended a session called "Real You Incorporated". The speaker -Kaira Sturdivant Rouda - was talking about the importance of branding.
You can hardly surprise anyone with the topic. We all know that, we all preach it... Bot something struck me while I was reading the post.
"She explained how important is it to "Brand" yourself in business and stick with it...along with the fact that in order to Brand yourself, you MUST be yourself!!!"
I just posted Being Nice, Being Stupid, Being Yourself, I struggled … (108 comments)

daytona beach broker: Daytona ...Where Living Is Cool... - 11/17/09 08:25 AM
Daytona Beach Area...Where Living Is Cool...
It was a picture perfect day in Daytona Beach. At 79F it felt on a cooler side, crispy and clean air, blue sky...
I was showing an apartment building on Daytona's Beachside, just a block from the ocean. We looked at several units and were ready to leave, when the Seller, a good friend of mine, shouted something and pointed to the sky.
I looked up and there was the shuttle Atlantis going up and glowing in the cool blue sky. I did not have a camera with me, and it happens very fast, so … (5 comments)

daytona beach broker: Delight & Tears (Experiment With Predictable Results) - 07/21/09 07:12 PM
The debate about the plans of the government to take over the Healthcare system in America will hardly leave anyone impartial. But if  many are trying to see the future, I am looking into the past.
The following is the quote from the review that I ran into on Google. Please, note how highly regarded was that free for all health system.
"During that [Soviet] era, health care was considered a major asset to the government and the people and was widely praised. The Soviet systems of emergency care, primary care, referral to specialists, hospital care, and return to the primary care system were … (14 comments)

daytona beach broker: Show Me The Soul... - 07/08/09 11:30 AM
It is an interesting journey, started with Richard Zaretsky's blog "WALK AWAY FROM THE PROPERTY - STRATEGIC MORTGAGE DEFAULTS GROW TO 26%", then Bryant Tutas accelerated it to a fascinating discussion with his Morally Wrong....OR...Financially Sound? . I bounced of it with Painfully Adjusting to the World.
Some great comments. Like this one below made by Lenn Harley. It is a strong and unforgiving account of the mess we are in. Lenn's position, often seen in bits and pieces in other comments, is spelled here clearly and with conviction. For those of you, who did  not read the blog and comments, here is Lenn's comment :

daytona beach broker: Sex With a Porcupine Or How We Are Different - 07/05/09 07:38 AM
Yesterday I posted Screwing a Porcupine Is Against The Law. Avoid The Temptation. I did not do it to shock the public, as I wasn't really shocked myself. I was laughing reading that article. I knew that it could have happened. And then I read the comments...
Oh my....
I knew that there is a gap between American and Russian mentality, but I did not know that it was so wide. This just tells me how different we actually are.
You see, for me and my wife the story, even if it was not true, was in line with the Russian mentality and character. It … (27 comments)

daytona beach broker: Before Saying "NO" To Development... - 06/28/09 07:04 AM
We had an open house yesterday, we put the signs, and then tied the balloons to the sign. Unfortunately it lasted only a few seconds, and then the balloons got loose and we could only waive "bye-bye" as they were disappearing in the blue sky.
I rushed to the nearest K-Mart Plaza to buy a new set. There was a lady sitting at the table in front of the store. She had several petitions and was inviting people to sign. I was in a rush, but one of the petitions caught my eye. "Stop development" or something of the sort. Yes, it was against the greedy developers, and … (4 comments)

daytona beach broker: Investing In The Poop - 05/18/09 06:05 AM
Tchaka Owen in a comment to my post Taxes and Orgasm tells me that my problem is because I am “looking at theory at the expense of reality”. He then goes with saying that Florida is hurting economically, that teachers are being cut, and Police and Fire Departments are being squeezed, etc. This is all true, by the way. This brings Tchaka, a responsible citizen, to the conclusion that we need to contribute in the form of a tax, and he finds nothing wrong with instituting a State Income tax. A small one, of course. So small that we forget those puppies … (13 comments)

daytona beach broker: The Beauty And The ...Ooops, Us! - 03/04/09 12:57 AM
When I am driving along the beaches of greater Dayotna Beach area, I always ask myself, why it is not something knock-out gorgeous. Why so many buildings are so plain and uattractive. It is difficult for me to comprehend that being on the Ocean opens so many opportunities to create beauty beyond belief, and the opportunity often is not used. It so often such a mismatch between the natural beauty of the ocean and the beach and many buildings, whihc do not enhance and do not really blend.
Well, many of them were built long ago. But today it is still the fight … (8 comments)

daytona beach broker: The Beauty And The Dust - 12/01/08 05:37 PM
We all were at some time in our lives, and often more than once, bedazzled by the stunning beauty of the sunsets, painting the lower part of the sky with these indescribable reddish, pinkish, yellowish colors... Auroras and sunsets are the gifts from the G-ds, throwing them our way to enjoy and admire.
Isn't it weird to know that the color is caused the the particles in the air and the more polluted the air, the brighter the colors?
When I was in US Virgin Islands, where they have gorgeous sunsets, I thought that the theory proved to be wrong, but there are no miracles. … (8 comments)

daytona beach broker: "Shining a Light Into Dark Places" - 11/20/08 05:43 PM
Ted Baker left a thoughtful comment on my post Things I Would Rather Not Know. But I Do
I did not want to stir the pot again. I long for something funny and entertaining, and here I am, stuck with dark memories, trying to make sense of senseless things. Without understanding how they, prisoners of the glorious regime, felt, the stories do not make much sense. We can understand the harshness of nature and can understand what people endure being lost. You are against the odds, and it is amazing what people are capable of. But millions and millions of people vanishing in the country … (12 comments)

daytona beach broker: Orlando: Heavy Active Raining. Photos - 11/09/08 03:07 PM
This is the second and last installment of photos from the AR bash in Hard Rock Cafe yesterday night.
Red carpet, free drink, VIP lounge, and hundreds of people popped right out of the computer and materialized in flesh. Weird feeling when you see your computer favorite bloggers, that you used to see for a year only in writing and see their photo, suddenly within reach in flesh and sound. It is like you are looking at a picture on your wall, and suddenly people on the picture stepped over the frame and right into your living room.
Unfortunately, we did not … (22 comments)

daytona beach broker: What the Heck's Wrong With My Remote? - 09/28/08 04:50 PM
Fernando Herboso  in a comment to my post To Real Estate or Not to Real Estate wrote "One thing for sure.. most people have 3 seconds to give you. . .long blog. . long wait".
I certainly agree that brevity is important. I am not sure, however, that it is a good idea to apply this 3 sec rule to our life.
I am not ready to limit my friendships to 3 seconds even in the era of twitter or whatever is there. I am not happy to narrow myself to fast food only... Would you really enjoy a 3 second sex? To what … (11 comments)
