Building a Business - Webinar Reflections This past week I attended an excellent webinar featuring Jeremiah Taylor and hosted by Bob. The discussion was about building a business versus working solo. Many of the concepts are things many of us know. We know that we should read The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, even if we are not part of Keller Williams. We know that the methods and ideas presented in the book are tried and true. They work. business: Is Now A Good Time to Get Into Real Estate?

That was the question posed to me by a young woman this morning who is a property manager by trade. My initial answer was, 'well it depends on how hard you want to work. It ain't a 9 to 5 gig, but more like starting at 7AM and going as late as or later than 11PM. And not a lot of days off.' We have a chuckle, and she said that will have to think about that. business: As Busy As Ever

There have been lots of posts about the the speed of business in the month of December for real estate professionals. Many of us slow down and take time to evaluate the current results of the current year. Then we make our plans for the coming year. As I started to try to slow down anticipating the completion of a closing this week, I have had to make a schedule adjustment. I have picked up three new leads, and they are trying to contract as soon as possible. The timing for this new business is so welcome. I will take time (5 comments)

One of my favorite books is Stephen Covey's 'Seven Habits of Highly Effective People' - a classic that still holds wisdom for today. Many of us know these habits, but I started thinking about them in a more practical way. How do I apply these habits to my daily real estate business? Be proactive - I think about anticipating what my current clients want. We are in the information age, and clients are constantly looking for more information as a part of their decision making process. I aim to be the best provider of the information they seek.
