We Are Homeless In Metro Atlanta, Can You Help Us?
We have all been at home one time or another, but lately we have been without a home in metro Atlanta.  We really don't like being homeless and sitting on someone's shelf or in someone's closet.  We are happiest when we are on a front door of a home.  When we are on the front door of your home or near the front door of your home, we know that you are a new listing.  Don't you want to be a new listing?  Don't you want to be for sale?

Something I Like About Bank of America - Teller Assist
Bank of America casually rolled out a new service without much fanfare in the metro Atlanta area.  I have not seen any television commercials or heard any radio advertisements.  I got wind of this new service when one of our tenants used it a couple of months ago to pay his rent.  He does not have an account with Bank of America.
The new service I am speaking of is Teller Assist.  Teller Assist is a step up from the regular ATM.  With Teller Assist, you essentially have a teller available … (0 comments)

Fairburn Fall Festival - Cool Cars, Food and Fun for the Youngsters
This past Saturday, the 2014 Fairburn Fall Festival had some really cool cars.  There were new Dodge Charges with all kinds of wheels and lambo doors in the parade.  And there was the Corvette Club with all of their Vettes lined up nicely.  Sun roofs, split tops.  All kinds of colors.
The food court had some of the best barbecue and seafood you ever want to taste.  Ribs falling off the bones, fried fish just like the old days when the church would cook it up to raise money … (0 comments)

real estate: Building a Business - Webinar Reflections - 07/12/14 10:41 PM
Building a Business - Webinar Reflections
This past week I attended an excellent webinar featuring Jeremiah Taylor and hosted by Bob.  The discussion was about building a business versus working solo.  Many of the concepts are things many of us know.  We know that we should read The Millionaire Real Estate Agent, even if we are not part of Keller Williams.  We know that the methods and ideas presented in the book are tried and true.  They work.
Jeremiah or I should say Mr. Taylor has read the book and worked the book and now enjoys a level of success that … (2 comments)

Twelve Centennial - You Never Know Who You Will Meet There
Yesterday afternoon I was driving through Twelve Centennial to drop off my agent and business partner Joseph Anthony Banks when he spotted the very lovely Gal Gadot of Fast and Furious fame.  We had to do the celebrity thing and get a picture with her.  I must say that she and her husband were VERY nice people. I was going to simply get a quick picture, and they beckoned me to get out of the car and pose with her.  Yaron Varona, her husband then took our picture.
Not sure if they … (2 comments)

real estate: What I Learned Today In Real Estate? Get The Deed Right - 12/18/13 01:54 PM
Every day we learn something different in real estate.  The industry is in a constant flux, and there are a lot of rules and regulations to be accountable for when conducting real estate brokerage business.  So today I learned something about title and deeds.
My buyer and I had a closing scheduled for tomorrow and everyone was very excited on Monday that we were going to close as scheduled.  That was until the closing attorney threw a monkey in mix.
What was the monkey in the mix you ask?  We signed the contract with the seller signing in the name of … (2 comments)

real estate: Getting Up On Twitter (Again) And A Lesson Learned - 06/11/13 05:39 AM

I finally signed up on Twitter a couple of months ago, and I was having much fun with this new experience.  I even got some support in the Rain - in the way of followers.  Thank you fellow Rainers!
But alas...I forgot my password.  So the fix seemed simple.  Just go to the Sign In page and click the Forgot Password link.  O.K. problem fixed - right?  Well you need to know what email address you used for the Twitter account.  I did not write down the email for the Twitter account.
After multiple rounds with Twitter trying to … (0 comments)

Twelve Centennial - Unit 3004 is SOLD!
Today we CLOSED on Unit 3004 at Twelve Centennial located at 400 West Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.  The journey to this closing was a long one, but my buyer continued to pursue his dream home.  We wrestled through two offers on the Twelve Centennial unit while it was listed as a short sale, and both times fell flat with the lender rejecting the offer.  When it finally came to market as a foreclosure, we were the first to submit an offer.  The two bedroom, two bathroom condo Twelve Centennial has absolutely stunning views … (2 comments)

real estate: Success Has To Have More Than Passion - 03/09/13 02:58 PM
I have been listening to an interview that Barbara Corcoran had with the editor of Success Magazine, and one of the topics is about what she believes makes a person succssful.  To my surprise Barbara does not put as much stock in passion as she does in endurance.  She matter of fact-ly states that anyone can have passion.
Passion is excitement in the moment.  Passion is the emotion that fuels when everything is going well.  Passion is like your first six months of marriage.  But she looks for endurance.  What happens to the person who fails?  How quickly can they … (10 comments)

South Fulton Homeowners - We Are Your FHA Short Sale Experts
If your home is in South Fulton (East Point, Hapeville, College Park, Union City, and Fairburn) and you are having trouble paying your mortgage, you may need to consider a short sale.  A short sale happens when the borrower owes more on the loan balance than the property is worth and asks his lender to accept a purchase price less than the loan balance.  An FHA Short Sale happens when the borrower has a mortgage insured by FHA.  FHA refers you to their FHA Pre-Foreclosure Sale (PFS) Program.  If your home … (0 comments)

real estate: Great Books for Real Estate Professionals - 10/28/12 10:04 AM
As real estate markets show improvement across the nation, I am having conversations with people who are interested in the real estate profession.  I'm probably not the only person here on AR having this experience.  One of the questions I get is "what are some books I can read to gain more knowledge about real estate?"  Here are a few books that I HIGHLY recommend for anyone considering a real estate brokerage business.
My number one favorite is The Millionaire Real Estate Agent by Gary Keller.  Gary Keller is the co-founder of Keller Williams Realty which is a national brand today.  Mr. Keller … (4 comments)

The catfish was two whole catfish fried in a light corn meal based coating.  The meat on the catfish was just the way Iike it.
Great food.

real estate: Why is Fayette County So Healthy? - 04/12/12 07:41 AM
Fayette County is part of the metro Atlanta region, and it is located just south of the city within minutes of the Hartsfield Jackson Internation Airport.  The County Health Rankings and Roadmap program ranks Fayette County is the number one healthy place to live in the state of Georgia.
While I was bit surprised by Fayette County's number one ranking in the program, I took a moment to review the factors that the program considers as a part of its rankings.  The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute is the source of the program, and some of the factors considered in … (4 comments)

Health conscious home buyers may now research and compare the healthiness of counties in their state.
