We put up our Christmas trees early this year. We have one at our "East" shore office and one at our "West" shore office. No I am not at the coast, but in the middle of Harrisburg and the Susquehanna River separates our shores. It's less than 1 mile wide, but it's definitely a clear division.
Our company likes to show our support in the community. This year we have partnered with Bridge of Hope, Harrisburg, PA. A home inspector that I work with (info at bottom of post) and he told me I could share this with the Active Rain family. I have a septic system and I know many areas of the Central Pennsylvania region that have septic systems. A lot of people are afraid of Septic Systems, but if they regularly maintain and pump their system (ever 3 years) they will otherwise have a cost-free utility for many years to come.

Greater Harrisburg Association of REALTORS (GHAR) Annual Turkey Drive was held on Friday, November 16th 2012.
The GHAR has been collecting food since 1986. Over the past 26 years the foundation has been able to feed 9,069 families in the Greater Harrisburg Area.
In 2012 the Foundation was able to purchase 725 Giant Foods gift cards and turkeys for family in the Central Pennsylvania area.
The Thanksgiving Food Drive Committee was chaired by JOHN HENRY, REALTOR with the Joy Daniels Real Estate Group.

November is a very busy month. It is a month where many of us take time to count our blessings and spend time with family and/or friends giving thanks for those blessings.
As I sit here creating this post, I have so many things to for which I am grateful - family, friends, health, a warm home, a safe (and beautiful) car, 3 kitty cats that adore me, a successful real estate business (and team!),and an invaluable source of information and friendship in Active Rain!

Don't buy the RIGHT Home in the WRONG Location Location ~ Location ~ Location
I am pretty sure you all have heard this Real Estate quote many times before. You can redecorate, rebuild, relandscape, perhaps even modify certain aspects of a home's location, but you can't change where a home is located. (unless you move the house!)
At a minimum, make sure to avoid locations that involve high noise levels, unsavory elements, traffic, pollution, crime, poorly kept homes and decreasing property values.
Instead, look in areas where homes are appreciating and close to major employment, great schools, transportation, shopping, entertainment, restaurants … (9 comments)

Do Woolly Bear Caterpillars Forecast Winter Weather? The Farmer's Almanac states that according to legend, the wider that middle brown section is (i.e., the more brown segments there are), the milder the coming winter will be. Conversely, a narrow brown band is said to predict a harsh winter. When my husband and I were out walking today. . . enjoying the Fall weather, we saw several of these woolly creatures.
Then we went to several shopping stores and several of them had their Christmas Displays up (I do love JOY Christmas ornaments, but not in October!).
