What a sight to see.....luminares lighting the streets of North Oaks in Jacksonville, Alabama.  It's a Christmas Eve tradition that began at the inception of the neighborhood and has continued throughout the years.  The homes are decorated..awaiting for Santa and the Christmas cheer.

alabama: Ready for Winter - Foothills of the Appalacian Mountains - 10/15/10 05:12 AM

I always enjoy taking the back roads when going to Alabama to visit my mother.  As I was departing Jacksonville, Alabama, I couldn't resist...I stopped the car and captured the moment !  Clean, crips country air on a bright and sunny day..
The background is part of Talladega National Forest, also known as the Foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
