dogs: Furry Fringe Benefit - 03/31/12 02:06 AM
You tell me it isn't totally awesome to stop by to sit with a former client and meet their new 6 month old boxer puppy. Look at those eyes. What a love.

dogs: What is it About Real Estate Agents and Dogs? - 01/25/12 03:57 PM
This is one of those topics I have been meaning to write about for a dog's age (sorry) and I finally have the time and inspiration to do just that.
It is my view that an inordinate percentage of real estate agents are dog lovers. Canine devotees. Poochophiles. And they aren't just dog owners, they rescue them  adopt them, and give them foster homes. When I peruse Facebook, I can bet that the people who are posting about a dog that needs a home are real estate licensees.
My very non-scientific observation in my 44 years is that a higher percentage … (51 comments)

dogs: The Little Things that Inspire - 01/08/12 03:52 PM
I have a conference all day in Manhattan tomorrow, so my Sunday was even busier than usual. At 9am I was at a kitchen table, discussing the next move for a new client. I seldom need "extra" motivation to get the job done for folks- I have 4 kids and a company to run. But sometimes, inspiration does find me. This little sweet thing was going to be put in another room, but I asked that she stay with us. I have had two yellow labs in my life, and adored them both. She looks- and acts- just like my Bella, … (15 comments)

dogs: That is One BIG Dog - 05/09/11 04:52 PM
There is nothing in the water in New Rochelle; this is just an English Mastiff, all of 250 pounds, that I met this past weekend while showing its master's home. I have never seen a dog this big. Never. He was just huge. This pooch was quite a gentle giant, however, and happily let me pet him. Everything about him was big- his head, his PAWS (HUGE!!!) and his gentle demeanor filled the space too.
As we left the house , my client (also a dog lover) and I reflected on the sheer hugeness of that dog. He's three of my … (26 comments)

dogs: Peekskill Dog Splash September 25, 2010 10am-Noon - 09/13/10 02:23 AM
I have blogged about the Peekskill Dog Park before. It just happens to be the creation of clients of mine. The story is that they got the city to dedicate underused parkland to an attraction that gets dozens of users a week.
In 12 days, the park will have its 2nd annual fundraiser, the Peekskill Dog Splash. It will actually take place at the lake at Depew Park, and all dogs will have a chance to splash around and swim and have a good time. There will be a complimentary dog wash station, so your wet dog will go home smelling fresh and … (8 comments)

dogs: Sheer Stupidity - 05/24/09 02:03 PM
Dear <agent>
Here is my feedback on my showing of your listing.  Please instruct the sellers of <address> that selling a $675,000 house is far easier when more is done to restrain a rather powerful looking (and sounding) German Shepherd than having a little girl hold a breezeway door ajar while the dog barks it's ass off at us. I say this as a dog lover and the owner of a German Shepherd myself. This was extremely disconcerting, and the minutes of confusion before the lady that I assume to be the grandmother showed up and we were told that the … (12 comments)

There is no doubt in my mind that the house would still be on the market if it wasn't for Phil's proactive efforts.
