I got a nice compliment from a seller client that was nice to hear, but the reason for it wasn't as nice. She told me that I was by far the most professional agent she has dealt with in selling her home, which was why she listed with me. That was great to hear. Then she lamented her experiences with some of the agents who had shown her home, and that was jaw dropping. The level of carelessness demonstrated by the showing agents was appalling. Lights left on Rear door left unlocked Cat was let outside, contrary to showing instructions. She (80 comments)

Anyone who is in sales and management learns over the years how to manage the styles of personalities we encounter. I have dealt with all types and consider myself fairly adept at interacting with people smoothly. The one that still gives me trouble, however, and probably you too, is the Jekyll and Hyde type- they start out pleasant, then suddenly become aggressive without warning or cause. I encountered just such a person today. 15 minutes of pleasantries, then 5 awkward minutes of moonbeam, loony tunes arguing and inexplicable confrontation. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat. It seems so rare these days, especially in New York, where terse tolerance of the competition is the most we expect in this market. With the State Association (NYSAR) in town this week, 4 kids just getting back into the school routine, and my admin out all last week, I haven't been the best P and Q guy around. So when it occurred to me on my drive home at a tad before 9pm last night that I hadn't set up a showing requested by a client for 3pm this afternoon, I sheepishly (44 comments)

10. Abbreviate. This is especially useful when you have the room to write more in your remarks but you still feel the need to call a living room an LR and a master suite a mstr ste. It really makes for easy reading when each sntce has mltple abbrvtns. Way to sell! 9. Misspell.Nothing builds your credibility like refridgerator, especially when the error lasts 4 months and your MLS has spell check. And while I'm at it, thanks for keeping that picture of the house under a foot of snow. It's September; my clients were curious as to what the place (3 comments)
