For the past two years the Corolla Wild Horse Fund has been having a fundraising event called "Night at the Races". It is a fun event in which the public can buy tickets to use for betting on prre recorded horses races. At the end of the night the tickets can be used for special prizes. There is also a silent auction and other contests going to to help raise money for the horses. The Corolla Education Foundation has completed its (153 page) application to NC’s Office of Charter Schools to startWater’s Edge Village School (WEVS, pronounced “waves”) and invites the public to an ice-cream social to celebrate!
   
The event will take place this Sunday (November 6th, 2011) from 2:00 to 3:30 pm at 1124 Carotank Road in Corolla's Village. The application will be available for review. If successful it will allow the Corolla Education Foundation to open WEVS in August 2012.
 
 
 
Come review the application, learn about charter schools in North Carolina and the application process, and enjoy ice-cream donated by Grammy B’s.

Mark your calendars! So you thought that with the end of summer came the end for reasons to visit the Currituck Outer Banks, guess again. There are many events that go on through the year. Currituck Heritage Park continues to have it Wednesday wine festivals throughout September from 3:00 - 7:00, and when that is done we have Heritage Day in Corolla on October 3rd. This event is more geared for the residents & homeowners, but of course all are welcome to come & enjoy the festivities.
