outer banks nc: September 2011 Market Update from Carova, NC 27927
- 10/14/11 10:21 AM
September was an excellent month compared to August's sales in Carova. My belief is still that 2011 will see the most transactions in 5 years, and that this can be the first step to recovery. Total transactions year to date are on par with 2010. I am being told that sales are up on the other beaches along the Outer Banks. This is proving to be a great year for real estate sales in Carova, NC. Whether you are interested a house or land, now seems to be right time to buy. Here is a list of what has sold this past month. I hear this one a lot over the summer, and although from talking with some of the lifelong residents, that statement used to be true, it just isn't anymore. The Outer Banks has really become a 10 month resort with different groups coming at different times. There is the pattern as I see it.
June, July, & August:
These are definitely the busiest months down here with families getting away while the kids that are off from school. They will often spend 6-8 hours traveling through 5 states just to spend another 2 hours covering the last 20 miles.

I received this email yesterday from the diriector of the Corolla Wild Horse Fund. Getting notices like this is just dreadful and shouldn't have to happen. The county ordinance requires the public to stay at leat 50 feet away from the animals, and absolutley NO FEEDING for this very reason.
On June 21st, we removed a two week old foal after treating him in the field for malnourishment. He died the next day. A necropsy showed that foal died of sepsis as the result of an impaction in his colon. We later learned that tourists in the rental house on (3 comments)
