santa clarita real estate agent views: Magicopolis in Santa Monica (City of Magic) - 10/31/07 12:07 AM
Magicopolis, this is truly one of those magical gems that reminds me of why I love living in Southern California.  Where else could you find so much talent? I live in the magic city of Santa Clarita. Our magic is founded upon a mountain, Magic Mountain with it's rides and thrills.  However there is another magic city and that is Magicopolis.
I recently attended my niece (Kadyn') birthday at Magicopolis in Santa Monica California.   As family and friends arrived we all gathered in the front lobby as one of the "magicians" was entertaining the kids doing a variety of magic tricks. All were readily … (7 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: School officials cancel classes due to fire conditions in Santa Clarita? - 10/28/07 07:52 PM
10/22/2007 I know this is old news but  upon reflection in the aftermath of these fires I cant help but pose a few questions we all may need to be asking about campus safety?  I am going to focus my thoughts on the campuses of West Ranch High School and the Rancho Pico Jr High Schools.
Our family as well as families throughout our valley got the call that schools would be closed as a result of the fires in Santa Clarita.  We were personally relieved as the air quality was poor as a result of all the fires burning around us in Santa Clarita.  I … (2 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: Lombardi Ranch still intact but not unscathed - 10/24/07 10:17 AM
I pulled up to Lombardi Ranch today not certain as to what I would encounter.   A couple of days after the aftermath of the Buckweed fire.  It burned a dozen or more homes and structures in it's path including Mr Lombardi's childhood home and what was to be his daughters home.
I stepped out of my car just as Mr Lombardi was pulling out on a tractor.  I introduced myself and shared with him the fact that my daughters and I had just a week or two earlier visited his farm and bought pumpkins and enjoyed the whole experience of being there.  … (6 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: Fires Ravage through the communities of Agua Dulce, Saugus, and Canyon Country in Santa Clarita - 10/22/07 04:05 AM
Governor Schwarzenegger proclaimed a State of Emergency in the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura due to more than eleven major wildfires.
I watched as the fixed winged planes hovered within feet of tree tops battling cross winds, fire and smoke yet they kept dropping strategic water drops on the fire with pinpoint accuracy.  Their skill and efforts limited the loss to just one home in the area of Agua Dulce hundreds of homes were threatened.  Without their efforts no doubt in my mind that these homes would be burning ashes!  These plane and helicopter pilots are … (1 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: The Santa Clarita Marathon - 10/18/07 01:29 AM
The Santa Clarita Marathon is on Sunday November 4th 2007.   Did you know that the Santa Clarita Marathon is a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon?  I guess if you're a seasoned runner you already know that.  I am going to begin to lose weight this year, so that I don't have to lug around these extra pounds when next years marathon rolls around.
My understating is that there will be a full marathon, a half marathon, a 5K Run/Walk all starting at 7:00 A.M. and a Kid K fun run which starts at 8:30 A.M.
These events highlight health and fitness. In fact, … (0 comments)

The 2008 Rose Parade Float in Palmdale needs your help.  This month the city of Palmdale is celebrating their 30 year anniversary as a city.
The city informed us that they need over 500 volunteers in December to decorate their float for the 2008 Rose Parade.  The theme for the float is "Celebrate the world through reading"
The thought behind this theme is the more self confident you are as a reader the more likely you will become more productive to society.  This is Palmdale's third year in the Rose Parade.
When a float is 20 feet tall how do you get it to … (0 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: The I-5 freeway through Santa Clarita has been reopened after fiery tunnel accident - 10/15/07 07:45 AM
On Saturday morning I drove over the I-5 freeway and noticed a huge traffic jam heading south so I naturally tuned into KHTS 1220 A.M. to learn what was going on?
KHTS Owner Carl Goldman was on the air discussing the events unfolding with local on air personalities Shaun Valentine.  Apparently there was a huge pileup the night before in the tunnel leading into the san fernando valley involving big rigs on fire within the tunnel.  I tuned in all weekend as new reports unfolded and was fully prepared for the challenges that we all faced for the Monday morning commute.
I awoke early this Monday morning … (2 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: Lombardi Ranch in Santa Clarita an annual family tradition - 10/14/07 12:52 PM
I just got back from visiting Lombardi Ranch in Saugus in Santa Clarita.  Lombardi Ranch is a functioning farm that has been around since the 1940's. They open the farm usually in mid August to mid November and everything being sold at the ranch has actually been grown there.
The Halloween Festival began in 1989 although they have been selling pumpkins since 1968.  Joann Lombardi shares on the Lombardi Ranch website how this festival began.  She wrote that their oldest daughter Julia invited her preschool class for a tour of the ranch sometime in October and handed everyone a small pumpkin … (2 comments)

santa clarita real estate agent views: Breakfast at McDonald's - A story of hope and kindness - 10/12/07 03:40 AM
This is a true story, it was sent to me to be shared with all.  I am a mother of three (ages 14, 12, 3) and have recently completed my college degree. The last class I had to take was Sociology. The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human being had been graced with. Her last project of the term was called, "Smile." The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions. I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway. So, I … (4 comments)

I arrived home in Stevenson Ranch from a meeting this morning and I find this can of paint sitting in front of my door.  First thing that comes to mind, is this a subtle hint from my wife? No  Could it be extra paint that my neighbor across the street was giving to me after A.Allbright painted his house? No (By the way my neighbor highly recommends them)  How many contractors can you happily refer?
I pick this paint can up and to my surprise it's a thank you gift from A.Allbright painting thanking me for my blog about there 3rd annual … (4 comments)
