real estate: FSBO HELP? COLD CALLING - 02/16/09 06:37 AM
Good Afternoon,

Today I spent the morning out cold calling and trying to make things happen, Calling FSBO's, knocking on doors and calling past clients and asking for referrals.

One thing I noticed I need improvement on is calling on the FSBO's.  How do you get the most out of calling on them?  I know you can't expect a listing the first time you call and its all about catching the owners at the right time.

So I just want to hear some past success storys or advice from everyone?

real estate: Happy President's Day - 02/16/09 03:06 AM
Good Morning all and happy president's day, I hope you all had a great Valentines Day weekend.   Mine was relaxing and great.

Out of curiosity I was wondering how many and if any of your brokers hand out leads and if they do are they any good leads?  Also monthly office dues commission Splits and what not. I just wanted to see if it is pretty standard or if there are differences.

Right now I Pay 220 a month in dues and get 60/40 split, no leads.

So any comments

real estate: Once again I've had some real great advice - 02/13/09 08:04 AM
Once again I've had some real great advice from all of you but the one that really caught my eye was this and thought I would Share it with other.

Get a lender, inspector, appraiser, etc. to sponsor a first-time home buyer seminar.  They put up the money and you put it together and you're the Realtor for the Q & A.

Although I think it is a great idea and I have already contacted a lender and they love the idea as well, we are having a little trouble finding a way to market it and get people … (2 comments)

real estate: Seeking advice - 02/13/09 06:17 AM
Well I have recently found out his is a great way to get advice and opinions from other real estate professionals.

I asked in a prior post if it would be a good idea to look for a 2nd job and if anyone had any ideas on the kind of job I should get.

I have received numerous comments and opinions on that subject and they seem to tell me to do the same thing which to try to get new business spend more time looking for new business and try new things. I would like to thank everyone … (8 comments)

real estate: Another Job - 02/13/09 03:09 AM
Part time Job ?

With the way everything is with the economy and market I am thinking about getting a part time job to help out my income.  I live pretty modestly in a small town rural area in east TX , I mean the only real restaurant we have is a Chili's . So I'm running out of ideas on what I could.

So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for good a part time job that won't cut to much time into the real estate career.
