Among the many different kinds of clients with whom I work, sellers, investors, down-sizing empty nesters, first-time buyers are among my favorite. In fact, some 30% of the homes being purchased today are by first-ime buyers. From a financial perspective, few things are more thrilling - it still is the American dream and with mortgage rates low and inventory high, it makes so much more sense than renting. I recently read that between 60% and 70% of American homes are occupied by their owners,. In other words, not investor-owned. This just in from the Keller Williams Brandywine Valley inhouse lender, Keystone Financial Mortgage: The Federal Reserve may put money into the economy by purchasing treasuries and mortgage-backed securities. On the surface the reasoning would be to try to keep rates low. In reality, it looks like there could be more to the story. It is called quantitative easing (dubbed QE2) Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's recent message was clear - another round of Quantitative Easing (QE2) is coming our way! The shifting market has been slow ti impact Philadelphia and the sourrounding counties, but shift continues. In Montgomery County foreclosures continued to rise, reports the Suburban West Realtors Assoicaiton this week. The total of mortgage foreclosures in 2009 was 2,498. In 2006, there were only 1,344 foreclosures. Currently, 1,893 foreclosures have been filed with the Prothonotary’s Office and the county is projected to reach 2,632 foreclosures by the end of the year. Filing fees related to the foreclosures is expected to generate $660,632 in revenue. With the rise in home foreclosures, fraud has also been increasing.
