home inspectors in fairfield county ct: Distilling The Problem - 02/28/13 09:19 PM

When a problem manifests itself, it can be misleading to its actual cause. Often what appears to be the solution is nothing more than a band aid on gapping wound. I see this kind of response often while inspecting houses. The best example in recent years is mold. Testing and remediation is often the reaction to visible mold in a house, while the actual cause (water) is never found or addressed.

home inspectors in fairfield county ct: Hidden, But Functional? - 02/04/13 09:13 PM
One of the more interesting things I find about inspecting homes is how something will jump out at me. When I say "something" I mean a problem or clue. To me it is obvious. Therefore a properly working heating system is a must.
When performing a home inspection testing the heating system can be said to be a major part of the process. This includes the distribution system. Some systems are forced warm air, blowing heat from supply registers … (8 comments)
