Did you know Coeur d'Alene has an urban forest? That should come as no surprise to anyone who has marveled at the beauty of the magnificent trees around town. I've blogged about Coeur d'Alene's urban forest from time to time over the years. I took the opportunity to hike around Tubbs Hill on a "field trip" with my fellow exercise boot campers. It was a lovely morning for a hike in our own urban forest. Tubbs Hill is located in downtown Coeur d'Alene. The natural trail winds along through the forest, overlooking beautiful Coeur d'Alene Lake. Did you know that it is the responsibility of every property owner to assist in the care of our city's trees? Coeur d'Alene's Urban Forestry ordinance sets tree care standards and gives guidelines for the care and maintenance of all public trees and shrubs.
