On Sunday, December 7, 2014, Zephyrhills, Florida will hold its annual tree lighting event for the 30th year! It will take place on the grounds of the Florida Hospital Zephyrhills on US 301, just north of the center of the town. The event will last from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM. There will be 53 decorated trees on display. Light refreshments will be served and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs along with their friends and families. Zephyrhills, Florida will be holding its annual Halloween Howl in the downtown area of the city on October 25th from 4 PM to 9 PM. There will be a costume parade at 6:00 PM, with participants lining-up at 5:45 PM in front of the 7-11 Convenience Store. Participation is FREE! There will be a Haunted House in the Jeffries House located at 38533 5th Avenue and a Hayride in front of the Woman's Club across from the 7-11 Convenience Store. When I opened my mailbox today (8/14/2014) I found a letter from Mike Wells, the Pasco County Property Appraiser where I live, telling me what my proposed property taxes for 2014 would likely be. Probably most of Florida's residents are also receiving these notices, also called Truth in Millage (TRIM). notices. It is worth your while to closely examine the one that pertains to the property(s) that you own. The notice will show you 3 main things: What your property taxes were last year. 2014: Zephyrhills' Flea Market Closed for Summer of 2014. To reopen in Fall!

My dad has informed me that the Patriot Flea Market just south of Zephyrhills, Florida is no longer open and is taking a break for the 2014 summer. That makes sense since so many of our residents have returned to their northern homes and the weather here is really heating up. Perhaps a little too hot to be wandering around under our intense summer sun here in Forida. Dad believes that the flea market will re-open in the November of 2014.
