I am pleased to announce that I have been informed that the flea market that started operating three years ago OPENED for the 2013-14 Winter Season on November 5th after a summer hiatus.
It is located in the same spot as it was last year. It is on the north side of Chancey Road, just a bit to the East of US 301 and Rt 39 (Paul Buchman Highway). Not far from the Majestic Oaks & Emerald Pointe RV Resorts..

Today, 11/14/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.35% up from 4.16% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.35%, up from 3.27% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.34%.
Freddie Mac's Vice President said, "Fixed mortgage rates increased this week following stronger than expected economic data releases. Nonfarm payrolls increased by 204,000 in October, above the consensus forecast. In addition, revisions added 60,000 additional jobs to the prior two month releases. From what I see in the papers and as I drive along our streets each weekend, there are more and more yard sales going on every Saturday. Not only sales in residents' front yards, but also larger community ones in our subdivisions. Guess the return of our snowbirds and the cooler temperatures are a couple of the reasons.

Today, 11/7/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.16% up from 4.10% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.27%, up from 3.20% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.40%.

The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.33%, up from 3.31% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.37%. Many of you were watching the "foolishness" that was taking place in congress over the past two weeks. Freddie Mac says that the circus antics of our elected officials (a few more than others) are why the interest rates edged upwards. The surprise to me is that the change was not more drastic.

Today, 10/10/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.24% up from 4.22% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.31%, up from 3.29% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.39%. My guess is that the uncertainty caused by the GOP's inablility to bring a continuing budget resolution to a vote. Markets don't like unknowns, just as people don't like them. We like to have an idea of what is ahead. Shutting down the government is not a reassuring action.

As of today, 10/4/2013, Tropical Storm Karen is out in the Gulf of Mexico. The projected path has it coming ashore somewhere from Louisiana to the Florida panhandle. Well to the north of Zephyrhills and most of Florida. If you look at the path of of the storm on the map to the left you will note an "S" over its path in some places. S = Tropical Storm. Mostly a lot of rain and some windy hours. For those of us in the Zephyrhills area it appears that we have again "dodged a bullet". Today, 10/3/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.22% down from 4.32% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.29%, down from 3.37% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.36%. Drops are good news for people looking to purchase a home and those of you who are trying to sell your current residence.

Yesterday, 9/26/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.32% down from 4.50% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.37%, down from 3.54% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.40%. Those rates sure look attractive now, don't they?

century 21: No Major Storms at Halfway Point of 2013 Hurricane Season in Florida!

Seven days ago, at the start of September, we passed the halfway point of the 2013 hurricane season here in the Sunshine State of Florida. The season runs from June 1st to November 30th of each year. So far we have had no major storms at all.
We have had a summer that seemed rainier than normal, but we needed the extra moisture to replenish our underground aquifers that have become depleted over the past years. The extra precipitation also greatly diminished the risk of wildfires. I can't remember hearing of a single one so far this summer near here. Just a … (3 comments)

century 21: Average Mortgage Interest Rates Drop a Bit This Week

Today, 8/29/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.51% down from 4.58% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.54%, down from 3.60% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.59%.
Apparently some experts think that the gradual increase in mortgage interest rates had some effect on new home sales in July. This is making them believe that perhaps the Federal Reserve will not be so quick to allow rates to rise a lot in the near future. When I opened my mailbox today (8/16/2013) I found a letter from Mike Wells, the Pasco County Property Appraiser where I live, telling me what my proposed property taxes for 2013 would likely be. Probably most of Florida's residents are also receiving these notices, also called Truth in Millage (TRIM). notices. It is worth your while to closely examine the one that pertains to the property(s) that you own.
The notice will show you 3 main things:

Today, 8/15/2013, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.40% unchanged from last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.44%, up from 3.43% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 3.62%.
