real estate agent: Average Mortgage Interest Rates as of June 23, 2015 - 06/25/15 06:58 AM
Today, 6/25/2015, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.02%. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.21%.
Do keep in mind that we are a very large country, So figures that come out for the entire nation, may have little or no relevance for your particular area. In the end, it is best if you speak with a local REALTOR or financing expert to see what the situation is for your part of the United States. Florida is not Michigan, nor is Maine the same as California. Market conditions … (0 comments)

The 2015 Hurricane Season began on, June 1st in Florida and will be with us until November 30th this autumn.
Here are some things I have mentioned in previous posts that you should keep in mind. First, the State of Florida has a website that you can use to help your family or business get ready for disasters such as hurricanes. You can visit it by clicking on the following link: http://www.floridadisaster.org/ There are a lot of useful tips there that can help you. It is still not to late to visit this site and get your supplies. When a storm is on the … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Little Change in Average Mortgage Interest Rates this Week - 05/21/15 09:08 AM
Today, 5/21/2015, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 3.84% down from 3.85% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.05%, down from 3.07% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.14%.
Freddie Mac's spokesperson said, "Mortgage rates were little changed this week amid positive housing news. Housing starts surged 20.2 percent to a seasonally adjusted pace of 1.14 million units in April, the highest level since 2007. As homebuying season moves into full swing, home builders remain positive about home sales in the near future. Although the … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Mortgage Interest Rates Drop to Lowest Level Since May 2013 - 12/04/14 05:47 AM
Today, 12/4//2014, Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 3.89% down from 3.97% last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.10%,down from 3.17% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.46%.
The rate of 3.89% is the lowest it has been since May of 2013! Are you going to take advantage of this situation and buy a home? Don't wait until rates go back above the 4% point and beyond!
Freddie Mac's spokesperson said, "Mortgage rates were down across the board on a week of underwhelming … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Mortgage Interest Rates Relatively Unchanged for Labor Day 2014 - 08/28/14 09:06 AM
Today, 8/28/2014,  Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgage was 4.10% unchanged from last week. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.25%, up a little from 3.23% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 4.51%.
Though no big changes, the rates remain VERY low. But so are inventories. So that can make prices rise. Sometimes a bit of a trade-off.
Freddie Mac's spokesperson said, "Mortgage rates were little changed following mixed housing news. Existing home sales rose for the fourth consecutive month to an annualized pace of 5.15 million, the … (0 comments)

real estate agent: John Elwell Designated "Master Ruby" Winner for 2013 by CENTURY 21 - 03/07/14 09:20 AM

Last week I was notified by CENTURY 21 that in 2013 I had achieved the "Master Ruby Award" level for sales production last year.
In 2013 I was also consistently in the Top 100 agents in northern and central Florida based on the number of sales sides that I had. Not bad considering that there are about 4,000 CENTURY 21 agents serving that area in various brokerages.
One reason I am successful is my broad use of the internet. Unlike many agents, I do not rely on just the few websites that all listings are automatically placed on. Instead, I have purchased … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Florida's 2012 Hurricane Season Ends as Quietly as it Began - 11/30/12 10:03 AM
Today, November 30th, is the official "last day" of the 2012 Hurricane Season. Though possible, it is very unlikely that a storm will form now. The waters of the Atlantic Ocean are just too cold now. And warm water is what powers these massive storms.
This summer we had many rainy afternoons which were welcome since they help to replenish our underground acquifers. And that is where most of our water here comes from. No mountain lakes or rivers to quench our thirst here. And the worst storm, Hurricane Sandy, went up the east coast to cause big problems for the … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Information for Voters in Pasco County, Florida Concerning the 2012 Election Cycle - 10/03/11 09:48 AM
You cannot avoid it on the television, radio, internet, and in the newspapers. Elections are coming in the near future. As part of the 2012 Election Cycle, some will be local, some statewide, and others national. Most of us realize that we are at a crossroads, and it is important that voters make EDUCATED choices. "Eeny, meenie, minie, mo" is no way to vote for leaders and laws that will affect all of us. So make sure you get the facts before you vote!
Of course, if you are not registered to vote in the place where you reside, then what I … (0 comments)

real estate agent: Hurricane Irene's Path Slips Slightly to the East, But is Predicted to Strengthen as it Passes Florida - 08/22/11 01:36 PM
As of today, 8/22/2011, Hurricane Irene is passing over Dominica, and it has strengthened. The new projected path has it skidding along the eastern coast of Florida and then moving on up toward Georgia and South Carolina. If you compare the map to the left to the one I posted on Saturday, you will see how the projected path has shifted slightly to the east. For those of us in the Zephyrhills area that might be a good thing since the storm will lose strength as it goes over land and now it might just give us more of a "glancing blow". Perhaps more rain … (3 comments)

real estate agent: Tropical Storm Emily Dissipates Over Cuba - Appears to Not Threaten Florida Now - 08/04/11 02:33 PM
Today, 8/4/2011, Tropical Storm Emily more or less gave up the ghost as it passed by Haiti on its way to Cuba. It now appears that it will not be a serious threat to Florida. We could get some rain out of the tropical depression if it passes by, but the National Hurricane Center does not feel that we will get much more than that.
You can click on the map to the left to see a larger view.
Do keep in mind that sometimes conditions can change, even though that appears unlikely with Emily. But it pays to be alert and take cautious steps to … (4 comments)

real estate agent: Get a Hurricane Tracking Map to Help You Keep Track of This Year's Storms - 06/06/11 04:38 AM

On June 1st the 2010 Hurricane Season began. They say we will have more storms that the norm. But, let's hope that this year will be a quiet one. Though it would be nice is some mild tropical storms or depressions would swing by to drop off some much needed rain here in Florida.
The National Hurricane Center has a hurricane tracking map that you can download in PDF format. Print it up, put it on your fridge or bulletin board, and you can monitor any storms that might be approaching our area. Kind of fun to do as long … (3 comments)

real estate agent: Average Mortgage Rates Return to the Lowest Level of 2011: Freddie Mac - 05/05/11 05:04 AM
Today, 5/5/2011,  Freddie Mac reported that the average mortgage interest rate for 30 year fixed-rate mortgages was 4.71%, down from 4.78% a week ago. The average interest rate for 15 year fixed-rate mortgages was 3.89%, down from 3.97% last week. A year ago the 30 year rate was 5.00%.
This week mortgage interest rates floated downward due to reduced yields for Treasury bond yields. This was caused by poorer ecomonic reports and the Treasury reacted by dropping what it is willing to pay to investors. In April, a slower growth rate was also observed in both the service and manufacturing sectors.
Reports on the housing market … (0 comments)
