A couple of months ago I wrote that I had decided to give weather radios to buyers of mobile homes. Here in Florida, and in other parts of the country, tornados and severe weather can occur very quickly. I felt that mobile home buyers might find these instruments to be useful. You never know if people will like a gift, but this week I got some feedback concerning this idea of mine. We often fall back on getting gift cards or some other type of nondescript presents for buyers and sellers. However, I have begun to purchase weather radios for my customers who are buying a mobile home through me. I got the idea a while back when I read that the federal government was considering a requirement that all new mobile homes would come with such a device. June 21, 2007: Ellsworth Introduces CJ’s Home Protection Act WASHINGTON - Rep. Brad Ellsworth was joined by Reps. Spencer Bachus (R-AL), Kay Granger (R-TX), and Dennis Moore (D-KS) in introducing legislation requiring manufactured and mobile homes to be equipped with weather radios to warn residents of severe weather.
