new jersey: Why I Love Working with First Time Home Buyers
- 10/27/14 02:19 AM
I love working with first time home buyers because I can remember so clearly what it was like to be one. I was single, in my late 20’s and though extremely excited at the prospect of owning my own home, I was also nervous and apprehensive of what the expense and responsibility of owning my own home would be. But I also knew that I was financially ready. So I set my fears aside and heeded the advice of my tax account (who said I needed some tax write offs), and purchased a 2 bedroom condo. That purchase ended up being the single best (0 comments)
Please stop by the open house this Sunday from 1-5 pm at 309 English Place. This lovely 2 bedroom 2 1/2 bath townhome has loads of updates and is a terrific price at $289,000 This townhome is new to the market and won't last long at this great price. So come on by and if you are a first time buyer you can take advantage of the $8000 tax credit as well! See you there.

Last night I had the privilege of attending the William Annin Middle School production of "Beauty & the Beast." I encourage everyone to attend if you want to witness some of the fabulous talent that is in the Basking Ridge middle school! From the moment the show started, I knew that I was in for a fun evening. The cast is extremely talented, and a pleasure to watch. It was evident how much the cast was enjoying themselves. There are many surprising special effects, a live orchestra, and the costumes looked like they came straight off the Broadway stage! There are (0 comments)

new jersey: Society Hill @ Bernards I - Good Neighbors
- 03/16/08 02:00 AM
A week ago yesterday, I lost my beloved cat of almost 16 years. She was actually probably 18 years old, I got her as a rescued cat when she was about 2. Even though she was old, she still had a lot of life and spunk in her which was why it was such a shock to find her early Saturday morning, almost already gone. The vet said there was nothing we could do, it was time to say goodbye. As my family sat in the vet's office in state of shock, completely devastated, we started reminiscing about her life. new jersey: Society Hill @ Bernards I - Tip for Heating/Cooling Townhouses
- 02/20/08 07:44 AM
For those of you who own townhomes in Society Hill, I want to share with you a little tip that was given to me by a heating/air conditioning expert when I asked him for some advice. I noticed that the upstairs was always so much warmer than the downstairs whether winter or summer. This is because heat rises up and cold air stays down, so he told me to do this.... In the winter months when you are using heat...close off most of the vents in the upper level (keep just one or two partially open). More heat will be put out (0 comments)

new jersey: Society Hill @ Bernards I - Monthly Meeting Minutes
- 02/05/08 11:54 PM
Just in case any homeowner of Society Hill Bernards I misses an open session of any monthly meeting, you may retrieve the minutes from the Management's office. You as a homeowner also may review any contract that this community has. Please keep in mind you may not take them out of the office, but you most certainly can review them by appt with the Property Manager. Thursday seems to be the best night for this type of service , since your manager is onsite until 7:00 pm.
Thanks to the person who posted this in comments....I thought it was important enough to repost (0 comments)
new jersey: Society Hill @ Bernards I - What Makes Our Community So Special?
- 02/03/08 06:20 AM
Those of us who live in Society Hill know what makes our complex so special, but if someone was thinking of moving to our area, maybe into our complex, what would you say are the attributes of Society Hill? I think one of the things that make our complex so special is that we have lots of grass and trees and nicely placed ponds. Quite often you will see condo/townhome communities that have a lot of buildings, but not a lot of lawn or trees. We also have a great pool, tennis courts, playground area for kids and a nice bike/walking path (1 comments)
new jersey: Society Hill @ Bernards I - Sharing Creative Home Improvement Ideas
- 01/29/08 06:46 AM
Someone mentioned to me at the Association meeting that it would be great if we could share creative home improvements we have made to our condo/townhomes (thank you to that person!). I will share one of mine and if you have one of your own (or several) please feel free to comment below or email me directly and I will post a blog about it. The first property I owned in Society Hill was a condo on Baldwin Court. The first change I felt I needed to make was to remove the plastic covering over the florescent tube lighting over the kitchen (0 comments)

- 01/19/08 03:59 AM
Welcome to the first blog about Society Hill @ Bernards I. I decided to write this blog because, as a owner of a Society Hill property since 1992, I thought it would be great to have a place for people to go to get up-to-date information about what's happening in our community. I know I have questions from time to time....like "What the heck happened to the Society Hill sign?"
So check back often if you want to be kept abreast of of all the newsworthy, interesting happenings of Society Hill I. I will see some of you at the next Association meeting on (4 comments)
