My youngest son, Philip, lives here in Idabel. The other two children live at least a 4 hour drive away so consequently, we always had more time with Philips' three children, Chassy, Davin, and Christopher. When they were younger, they were at my house every week-end. Now they are pretty much grown and busy with their "adultish" life.

I thought the grandchildren had probably outgrown the dinner tradition of going around the table, one by one, and telling something good that happened to them during the week. BUT last week, when we had Chassy and Travis to dinner, Chassy said, "I'm waiting... who's going to start? We always talk about the good things that have happened to us when we eat dinner with Gram and Pappaw." AND she started the round robin good telling.

Networking: It’s been quite a week this week. A few passionate discussions have evolved between some Active Rain members both here in The Rain and on Facebook. I am hopeful that these will be resolved into something that we can put a “good” label on.
Business: I took three new listings and had one closing. Our granddaughter, Chassy, came to work for us at Integrity Real Estate Services. We are all proud and excited about that.

Tell Me Something Good That Happened to YOU this Week! There was a time when as regular as Sunday morning Church service, I posted a "Tell me something good that happened to you" post on Sunday evening here on Active Rain. Then there would be times of busyness when I didn't.. it came and went. Then I slacked off on blogging as frequently as my habit had become.
When my son, Philip's children were smaller and they were regulars at my table on Sunday evenings, we made it a habit to make Sunday dinner special. It was the time to use all … (6 comments)
December 1, 2013 Since we don't dine as often these days with our grandchildren.. they are growing up, Don and I actually participate in this ritual much less than we used to. He and I are together twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week so we know the good things that have come along without having to inform the other one.
BUT this ritual started when waaaaay back there when the babies were small and we were trying to teach dinner conversation, relaxed dining, good manners,.. etc. … (3 comments)
What a week. God's blessings continue to flow like downpouring rain.
This week-end brought my daughter, son-in-law, and their two girls to visit. We've cooked three times as much food as can be eaten, talked more in 2 1/2 days than you can catch on the weekly talk shows on tv, laughed, cried, and had just had a wonderful family visit. They will be going home tomorrow, Monday.

Tell Me Something Good That Happened to YOU this week. For a few years now, when the grandchildren come to visit and it’s dinner time, each person around the table takes a turn talking about the good things that have happened to them during the week. Each person has to have at least one or we just wait on them until they think of something and tell us about it. This past week our family sent three off to college. Tell Me Something Good That Happened to You This Week! January 8, 2012 How many times have you dated something with the year 2011 so far, after January 1, 2012. It always takes me a while to make the change into a new year but about the time that I get used to it, it will be 2013. Tell Me Something Good That Happened To You This Week ~ I love this time of the year. Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas will here in short order. Family get-togethers, shopping, cooking, plans and parties. A few years ago we started having Thanksmas the first week-end in December. That allows us to have our family together for a holiday celebration without conflicts with schedules for our in-laws and out-laws. It occurred to me that is only about 3 weeks away. Tell Me Something Good That Happened to You This Week. I missed doing this last week and didn't want to miss doing it today for this past week. It's been a busy writing week with about 15 posts already posted here in The Rain.. BUT just really enjoy hearing the good stuff that other Rainers leave in the comments. This week has been pretty quiet in the way of work, for me. Had a really good stay at Raymond Gary Lake last night. Tell Me Something Good That Happened To You This Week It's Sunday Again!!! This is the day that the week ends on Active Rain and I always ask you to tell me something good that happened to you this week. Tell Me Something Good That Happened To You This Week It's been another good week here on the farm in McCurtain County Oklahoma. A new listing, one new contract, and a closing coming up this next week. A post coming up on the new listing due to the way it came about... We had some good quality time with the grandchildren that live on the other side of the farm. Managed to go fishing yesterday afternoon in those new kayaks. It was a blast. It's been an interesting week.. with ups and downs. Some of them relating to Active Rain with two more of my favorite staff members leaving AR after Jon Washburn stepped down. Doug and Steven are two fo the best at what they do. To be quite frank, I have some concerns about what is coming next on AR... hopefully things iwll settle down and AR will return to some semblence of the network that we know and love. It's Sunday again! Each Sunday, I ask you to tell me something good that happened to you this week. It's a tradition that Don and I have had with the grandchildren at dinner time when we have them. They so love it and never get too old for it. If Don or I pretend to forget to start the Good Something Conversation, one of them will start. It's so much fun.
