vacations: New Meaning for "Bended Ear" - 09/29/19 11:59 AM
Don and I just got in from a two-week driving vacation and I have pictures galore.. (Don't we all, even on a daily basis??) I snap photos of everything...not just the touristy stuff!  I couldn't resist taking this one of a "bended ear".  The car had verbiage indicating someone in the  pest control drove the vehicle.  I couldn't see the front of the car but I can imagine that the lights were decorated as eyes and it probably had a perky nose relating to a hood ornament or something like that.  The ears definitely got my attention.  Everytime the car pulled … (8 comments)

Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill Surfside Tx ~ RV Trip to Surfside, FreePort, Galveston Tx ~ Post 2

As soon as we got the RV set up in our space #39 front and center looking at the gulf, we headed walked over to the Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill right in the RV Park. It was about 20 steps to the gate into the fenced area that has a giant ground chess game and the steps leading up to the restaurant which is on the second level above the tall piers at ground level. I should have gotten pics of the … (1 comments)

Some Much Needed Time Away.... RV Trip to Surfside, Freeport, Galveston Texas - Post 1

Last week was a much needed recess from work. If you ask most children what their favorite part of school is, they often will say, "Recess!". Even though I enjoy my career choice, I'm still a child at heart much of the time and recess is a favorite.

This recess was spent on a trip, destination Surfside, Texas. Beachfront RV Park Resort; reservations were secured for an ocean front, beach front, space for Quantum 5er. It always takes me a day to get ready for vacation … (5 comments)

Revisiting Trails.. 1987 and 2016 The Moon Buggy

Don and were married in the late Autum of 1986 but took a HoneyMoon Trip in Spring of 1987.  Several states, a driving vacation..  taking in different sites and spending time in each state..  I believe we did 7 states on that trip.

One of the places we spent some time was the Huntsville space center.  While there, Don took this photo of me..

Only after I "climbed" off did we catch the part that said Do NOT CLIMB ON EXHIBITS.  My bad..  I would not have done that.
In September of this year, we … (3 comments)

vacations: Jewelry Inspired by Science & Nature ~ 2nd attempt! - 10/08/16 09:47 PM

Planets in proportion to the sun ~ a necklace that I would wear.  The only problem here is that if the clasp is at the back of your neck the earth would be at the back of your neck, you would probably only be showing off Uranus and Neptune.

Sorry, but I can't see this one being worn....  Pretty? Yes!  Practical to wear? No..

This one is Gorgeous!  I would wear these a lot!  Beautiful 18K Gold Dragon Fly, Bee, & Butterfly.  My favorite.

The Milky Way Galaxy.  Not for me as a piece of jewelry, but on display, love it!

The one … (2 comments)

vacations: Huntsville Space & Rocket Center RV Park - 10/08/16 09:42 PM
Huntsville Space & Rocket Center RV Park

Yes, the Huntsville Space & Rocket Center has it's own RV Park!  Call to reserve a spot and Dennis will answer the phone.  If you get there after 4:45 pm, you will find a note on the door telling you which spot to park in and you leave him a check in the drop box.

If you get there before 4:45 pm, you'll meet Dennis and have a nice conversation.   He will tell you how to walk to the Space & Rocket Center without having to take the much traveled road.  See the trail in … (1 comments)

My First Trip to San Antonio - The Alamo

The Alamo was one of the best things that we did during our recent trip to San Antonio.  For some reason, walking around the Alamo and immersing myself into the battle and subsequent consequences of that event in Texas history was an emotional thing for me as often is when I tour historical sites where people fought to preserve a way of life.

I was very disappointed that a large portion of the Alamo grounds had been covered up with a street.  The  Alamo is open to the public with no entrance fees, … (4 comments)
