Los Altos real estate market trends show a slight price decrease since early March 2017 but the decrease is too small to be meaningful. 1st qtr 2017 shows more than 80% of houses are selling over list price which is a significant change for the signs of weakness in the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2016. Los Altos, Mountain View, and Palo Alto have been some of the areas I've watched most closely. In 2010 Los Altos real estate market trends began showing signs that the 2009 drop had stopped and that prices would begin to increase. The strong rapid growth since 2012 has overshadowed the weak trend that surfaced in 2010. The trend for flat prices in 2016 was easier to spot early on for these three cities.
