real estate: September in Vernal Utah - 11/15/08 03:07 AM
Vernal Utah plants hundreds of pots with petunias each year. The run from the beginning of town on Hwy 40, down Main Street and out to Hwy 40 on the other end of town. It is an amazing display of color. Last spring I posted pictures of the petunias announcing spring. The flowers in the fall were even better. By then they had exploded from their pots and were heading down the curb to the road.

real estate: It's Begining to Look Like Christmas In Vernal - 11/14/08 05:21 PM
I was delighted to see Christmas decoration going up in Vernal. Cobble Rock Park has beautiful wreaths hanging on the fences and entryway. There are santas hang on posts. They have decorated the light posts with red garland and snowflake tops. It won't be long and they will be turning on the Christmas lights. I can't wait to see the snowflakes lit up all the way down Main Street!

If you enjoy camping, hiking, snowmobiling, petroglyphs, horseback riding, picnicking, caving, boating, and of course wildlife this is a place to check out! If you love flowers like I do you will love the wildflowers in the area. I will post some of the ones I saw in June in a later post.

real estate: Septarian Nodule - 05/20/08 03:13 PM
I took pictures of the rocks at the airport. I think the one I like the best was the Septarian Nodule. They say it is found in southern Utah. 150 million years water covered parts of southern utah. Volcanic eruptions cause sea life and sediment to be trap in mud balls. The mud balls were then exposed to the sun when the water receded. This caused them to crack. Whenthe water returned dissolved sea life turned in calcite that settled into the cracks causing this type of formation. Rockhounds can find them in Kanab, Utah.

real estate: Idaho Falls, Idaho Spring? photos - 04/30/08 02:44 PM
I recently read a blog on whether it was spring yet in our area by Glenda and Steven McDaniel. I work in Utah and live in Idaho. I was home a couple weeks ago and thought I would take a picture of the falls in spring. If you can call it spring because it was cold, windy, and there was a chance of snow. I also thought it would be a good time to add a few pictures, from 2002, of what the falls look like in the winter when, at times, they freeze. Very pretty. Later, in a future blog, … (11 comments)

real estate: Prehistoric Times? Dinosaurland Vernal Utah - 04/18/08 06:59 PM
Meet some of the dinosaurs of Vernal Utah! They are a familiar sight in Vernal. Dinosaur fossils were found near Vernal in 1909. 350 tons of bones were removed at the time, and continue today. Some complete skeletons were found. The area became a National Monument in 1915, where people could view the process of the removal of dinosaur bones. Unfortunately, the monument has been closed for repairs to the building. Replicas of dinosaurs can be viewed at the Utah Field House of Natural History Museum.

I enjoy being a Realtor in Vernal, Utah, and I am proud to display some the beautiful scenery of this season.
Since Vernal is Dinosaurland it would not be right not to include at least one of the well known dinosaurs of the area. More Dinosaurs to come in one of my future blogs.

Hi
Just joined the group. I live in Idaho Falls, and have a license to sell real estate in Idaho and Utah.  Right now I am using my Utah license to sell real estate in Vernal, Utah. I thought I would share some pictures of Idaho. These were taken in November when we went to cut a tree. They were taken in the Targhee National Forest. This area is beautiful in every season. There is great camping, snowmobiling, hiking, skiing, and of course tree cutting. It is near the Palisades Reservoir were there is boating, fishing, and water skiing.

real estate: Rock hunting in Vernal Utah - 03/13/08 04:15 AM
I have been selling real estate in vernal for about 7 months. This weekend I went rock hunting for petrified wood outside Vernal. I was thrilled to find several nice piece. This area used to be tropical about 50 million years ago so it is possible to find petrified coral, palm tree wood, and even sea turtle shells. The area of Vernal is known for the amazing fossilized dinosaurs bones found there as early as 1909. My next venture might be hunting for garnets or plant fossils in the area!
