Yes every market is different and being a Broker is more work than I ever dreamed it would be. With the recent market conditions in the past few years it is tougher and tougher to get the job done. Sellers wanting to desperately sell and buyers wanting to get the best deal. Appraisers finding it hard to find comps to banks & attorney's trying to get the new HUD correct. On the cover of The Franklin Press the county tax assessor announce that Macon County will postpone the county's revaluation of real property until 2013. It is being pushed back because of depressed sales and market instability due to economic rescission. They said they have to give the market time to stabilize and establish where the market is.
If they did proceed with the 2011 tax revaluation land developers and land speculators would probably see a lowering of their tax liability but it would be picked up by the average residential home owner if they did lower the values. They have … (2 comments)
