Relay For Life June 3, 2011 Macon County Franklin, NC I think that it is really important to give back in some way and I think Relay for Life is a great way to do it! We were really concerned last year about meeting our goal and we did ok but not as well as other years past here in Franklin, NC. Dear Franklin Relayers,We will have food, fun and entertainment and Meghan Peck Reynolds (daughter of Marna Peck) will be the speaker. The Girls Scouts will be doing their version of the Pink Glove dance and we will havelots of activities for kids. We really want to promote our 2010 Relay For Life of Franklin so come out dressed in purple and help us to kick off the Month of May as Paint the Town … (0 comments)

The Franklin Board of Realtors held an new event this year to raise money for Relay for Life. We started what we hope will be an event to grow each year. More than 100 people showed up for this event. About 40 participants racing. The race course covered close to 20 miles, it was a Run - Bike - Run Relay. There was more to this event than just racing. We had a live band, lunch, face painting for the kids, cheer leaders from the Middle School to cheer the finishers, Zumba dance-fitness craze and raffle tickets from lots of sponsors … (2 comments)

I think that it is really important to give back in some way. I decided to help with the Relay for life this year at the Local Board of Realtors. We were really concerned last year about meeting our goal and we did well over. I am more concerned this year because of the economy is even worse but I am staying optimistic to at least give it our best shot.
