Saturday brought a cool breeze and warm sunshine to Havenwood, bringing families from all over to enjoy the sights and sounds of the local community. Guests were greeted at the outdoor pavilion with the bluesy-rock sounds of the Meagan Tubb and Shady People band, where they enjoyed delicious Texas-style barbeque and allowed their children to play at the nearby playground.
The highlight of the day was certainly the trolley ride through the neighboring community of Gruene, where guests saw sites both popular and historic, and then returned to the community to explore the winding roads and majestic hills at Havenwood.

Dry Comal Creek is a vineyard located on 103 acres of land just outside of New Braunfels, and neighbor to Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard. To understand more about why this winery is so special, you have to go back to the beginning.
In the 1970′s, Dry Comal Creek was full of wild mustang grapes and dewberries. The Texas wine industry is more than 300 years old, and according to the Texas Wine and Grape Growers Association, Texas was the site of the first vineyard established in North America.
