suburban philadelphia pa: City of Chester PA Holds Public Meetings for Comprehensive Plan Update: Vision 2020 - 06/08/09 01:57 PM
Last Thursday I had the opportunity to attend the first meeting being held by the City of Chester PA as they begin the process of updating their comprehensive plan.
The City is holding a series of five public meetings to obtain input and ideas from the public on both the progress in the city to date and which items should be highlighted as priorities in the future.  The last Comprehensive Plan, Vision 2000, was completed in 1994.  The new plan, titled Vision 2020, is expected to be completed toward the end of 2009.  State law requires periodic updates to the plan.

As we enter firmly into spring, it's a great time to clean up, clear out, and get your home ready for summer.  It's also important to remember not to forget to continue to attend to the environment.  Just a few reminders as we enter the outdoor season:

Welcome to the City of Chester, PA.
Chester actually has two rail stations that are situated on the SEPTA R2 Regional Rail Line.  The one to the north is the main Chester Transportation Center located in the original downtown area of Chester within easy walking distance of much of its commercial core and government offices.

As we enter the last weekend of March, you still have the opportunity to take advantage of the Barrels on the Brandywine Event put on by the member wineries of the Brandywine Valley Wine Trail.  The Brandywine Valley Wine Trail encompasses seven wineries (soon to be eight) ranging from just west of Philadelphia to eastern Lancaster County.  Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5:00 are the last two days of the event and offer a perfect opportunity to sample the new 2008 vintages at each location.

Welcome to the Penfield Station on SEPTA's Route 100 High Speed Line connecting the 69th Street Terminal and the Norristown Transportation Center. 
Penfield Station is actually the third station west of the 69th Street Terminal in northeastern Delaware County.  Located on the eastern edge of Haverford Township, this station is a convenient stop for commuters generally from the Penfield section of Havertown and the Penn Wynne section of Montgomery County.
