la quinta realtor: What exactly IS networking???
- 06/06/13 11:54 PM
Network. Just the word implys "work"..work with a net? Net people or things in while you work? In my mind, networking is simply living in the world on a daily basis. I exchange greetings, small snippets of "how's it going with your daughter?", or something similar. Just living and touching bases with other humans as I go through my day. Is this my version of "networking?" Seems I'm always reading about how the only way to increase your sales numbers is to NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! I simply cannot bear the idea of going to a networking event after a long day (2 comments)
la quinta realtor: Are my clients my friends???
- 04/18/13 11:03 PM
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. When you work as closely as we all do with our clients, we establish a sort of friendship. It's driven by the service we provide as well as our own personalities. Every client is different; some are very easy to keep in the "business only" box, but I have found that most of my clients do become friends of a type.. The friends I have had in my life range from high school buddies who occupied a special place and will always be there, to people that I hung out with for awhile, (3 comments)
la quinta realtor: Who are all these new agents in Palm Springs?
- 03/08/13 11:00 PM
During the crazy days of home buying and selling, and building and selling, and lending and selling… You remember, 2004 through 2006, we had another 1200 agents here in the Palm Springs Valley!
Less than half of these agents survived the crash. I have found that the agents who have done well during this downturn, tended to be the very good ones.
Once again new licensees are flooding the market in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Palm desert, Indian Wells, and La Quinta… Virtually all of our desert cities. Wow! Who would have thought?
I'm looking forward to the competition, meeting new (2 comments)
Let's see… In the past couple of weeks I have shown buyers my beautiful Palm Springs Valley from all over. Seattle Washington, Calgary, Ottawa, and Vancouver, Canada, Laguna Beach, Manhattan Beach, Alaska, Northern California, and today a couple from Malibu, California. This just over the past couple of weeks! And they are buying!
The prices of homes in the Palm Springs Valley have definitely stabilized. We are basically a seasonal resort destination, with extreme winter warm weather. Anybody living (5 comments)
la quinta realtor: Looking for a home in Palm Springs? There are several cities to consider...
- 02/08/13 10:32 PM
When your clients first contact me, they generally say that they are looking for a home in Palm Springs. What they usually mean is a home in the Palm Springs Valley. The Palm Springs Valley has several different cities. On the western border is Palm Springs proper. The city of Palm Springs has many many different neighborhoods, often characterized by their walk ability to downtown Palm Springs. As you leave Palm Springs and travel more towards the center of the Valley, you will pass through Cathedral city, Rancho Mirage, Palm desert, Indian Wells, the more easterly city of La Quinta, all the (0 comments)
la quinta realtor: Palm Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert..some FINE Art!!
- 02/02/13 11:02 PM
My beautiful desert Valley is rampant with Art. Art shows, Art Galleries, Art Museums, Artists..Theatre, live shows from the East end in Indio at their Performing Arts Center to the West end in down town Palm Springs.. Art in the Palm Springs Valley is often associated with the Music Festivals in Indio, but those are fairly new..about 12 years old. The Palm Springs Museum always has fantastic exhibits. The Museum in Old Town offers up it's own eclectic style. Art Walks down El Paseo the first Thursday of every month. If you are thinking of buying a home in the Valley, (0 comments)
la quinta realtor: How Low is TOO low????
- 03/03/12 09:41 PM
I'm submitting Counter 3 today. Unfortunately, I think my Buyer is going to actually have to pay MORE than he would have if he had initally accepted their first counter..which was extremely fair. House listed at $144,900..$87/sf. A very good price as it's been remodeled, new bathrooms, kitchen, A/C, roof, 1989 home with over 1600 sf and in a great location. Listed 30 days. I suggest $140,000 as we are cash and I think they may accept. Nope. Buyer decides he wants to barter. We offer $130,000.."because we're cash and they'll want cash." OK..I feel defeated, but I know the list (8 comments)
