This year there were nine reported traffic deaths in the state of Alabama.  This is sad news but it is reduced from 21 reported last year this time.  It is believed that five of the nine were alcohol-related and four of the victims … (1 comments)

Efforts to make the Huntsville Area Safer IncreaseSubmitted by: Kimberly Grant,Huntsville Real Estate AgentHuntsville/Madison AL Real Estate Blog
Well, the results are in from the Take Back Our Highways Campaign that was held this week.  As a reminder, this campaign was started because Alabama traffic fatalities has hit an all time high since 1973.  Compared to August 14-17 2006, this year was much better.  Last year that time period saw 11 traffic fatalities compared to 2 this year.  Fewer injuries and deaths are always a benefit to those of us to do a lot of driving during this time of the year.

I have GREAT news for anybody that has to travel on Sullivan Street through Madison.  Reports say that Sullivan Street will be OPEN to traffic starting Monday.  It seems like Sullivan Street has been closed FOREVER but it is about to open again through Downtown Madison.  Construction crews will still be there a while but at least you won't have to go through that detour.  One time I was stuck in that detour for almost 45 minutes.  In the summer Alabama heat, it seemed like an eternity.  … (0 comments)
