montana: CrossFit Flathead Moves into a New Space, Montana - State with Pride - 04/26/14 10:27 PM
Yesterday was moving day for CrossFit Flathead, my gym. I must admit I am a little intimidated by the size and bars in the new gym. We will start our WODs there on Friday. I expect coach Buford Bennet will have all kinds of "fun" lined up for us in this new space!

USA Today survey results: Montana voted best state to live in. A lot of us were not born here, but are proud to call Montana home! You have to be a little tough and adventurous to live in Montana but it is so worth it. I call my family … (0 comments)

montana: The Spartan Race Coming Soon to the Flathead Valley - 04/19/14 01:00 AM
Last year it was held later but this year it is the weekend of May 10. Earlier and probably cooler. Last year it was HOT for the participants. Having volunteered last year and seen the course up close, better be ready for battle if you are participating! Here is the Spartan blog about returning to the valley with the friendliest people :)

montana: Yep, that's Whitefish Montana! - 03/26/14 05:54 AM
Click on the link below from Powder Magazine for a classic tale of what it is like to be in Whitefish Montana during Winter Carnival. I loved the part about the parade stopping so people in the parade could visit with friends spectating :) Gotta love small towns where you always see someone  you know.

montana: Whitefish Montana and National Georgraphic Travel Magazine - 03/04/14 07:04 AM
I was reading the latest magazine, when I discovered a column referring to online exclusive digital treasury for the riches of Montana. I googled it and this link leads you to what I found.

In the meantime, after a few days of digging ourselves out of a lot of snow, it is warm and even raining a little. Sure to be a big mess in the next few days! There were 6 small avalanches on I-90 between St. Regis MT and the Idaho border closing the highway - a main way to get all goods trucked across the state lines. … (0 comments)

montana: Ahh, Kalispell Montana - 10/27/13 08:05 AM
Discover Kalispell is working hard to market our town and valley. From the Spartan Race this summer, to the Dragon Boat races in September. This is an excellent video highlighting the beauty of our area as well as all there is to see and do. Enjoy and plan a visit. Missing from the video are all the fun things to do in the winter.

montana: Kalispell, Montana: Ranked #11 by Money Magazine - Top City to Retire - 10/22/13 02:44 AM
Out of the 25 Best Cities to Retire: Kalispell ranked number 11.  For years we have attracted retirees that like an out doors and active life style. With Flathead Lake  - largest fresh water lake west of the Mississippi -, skiing, Glacier National Park in our backyard, golf courses and many other activities, it is no wonder this is a great place for people to move to when looking around the country for a place to retire!
What a beautiful fall!! I am looking out my office window at the larch trees dotting the hillsides with color, sun is shining and … (1 comments)

montana: Sophie Lake in NW Montana - 09/12/13 11:00 PM
I have always heard about the lakes near the Canadian Border. We took our camper up to Rexford MT on Lake Koocanusa and camped at the National Forest Rexford Bench Campground. Took a drive up to Lake Tetrault and Sophie Lake. It was a hot September day and many  people were enjoying all three bodies of water. A very picturesque part of Montana. Also, here is a link to the new and improved Glacier National Park webcams http://www.nps.gov/glac/photosmultimedia/webcams.htm

montana: Flathead Valley Update: March 28, 2013 - 03/28/13 06:00 AM
Lots going on in the valley for future road changes and developments. A developer got a closer to final approval for a 27 acre water ski lake development with surrounding home sites. The developer was given some changes but the Flathead County Planning Board to his original plan. This sort of subdivision is done in other areas and frankly, I don't see the point here in our valley. We have an abundance of lakes for water skiing on, unlike E. Montana or Arizona. Also, the season for water skiing is short. We will see how this concept flies.
The north end … (0 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley Update: January 27, 2013 - 01/26/13 10:49 PM
It is the beginning of the yearly Whitefish Carnival season. Yesterday, was the first day of skijoring a competition where a rider on horseback pulls a skier or snowboarder around a course with curves and jumps. Sometimes a little unnerving to watch but also fun! http://www.whitefishskijoring.com/schedule.php
In addition to listing and selling real estate, I am a food coach for genesistransformation.com. 4 years ago I totally changed how I ate. Increasing calories in the fueling stage with my coach, pulling out gluten, dairy, and processed food. I ended up losing 35 lbs and becoming fit and healthy. As a result, I went … (1 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley Real Estate Update January 3, 2013 - 01/03/13 04:10 AM
It is all about skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort on a day like today. The photos below say it all. Music playing when we loaded on the first lift was "I can see for miles and miles and miles" - so appropriate. The visibility sign at the chair said "awesome". We rode up with a guy from New Zealand and who was taking photos the whole way. He moved to the Flathead Valley 6 years ago after searching all over the Northwest for a place to call home. He said where else can you find a ski hill, a national park, … (1 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley Real Estate Update August 3, 2012 - 08/02/12 10:18 PM
It is has been getting busy here at Blue Sky Realty in Kalispell. In 3 days last week I:
1) listed 2 homes for sale
2) met with 2 out of state buyers and wrote an offer (accepted by the way) for one of them
3) Had many buyer leads on my web site
4) Had another seller ask me to meet with her about listing her home
5) Set up showings on my listings
Reminds me of the good old days, busy! Our local MLS put out a chart showing the inventory/sales for the last 3 years. Inventory is down and … (0 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley News and Notes March 10, 2012 - 03/11/12 11:17 PM
I was in a continuing education class for supervising brokers this week. We learned - or had a refresher course in - everything from trust accounts to water rights and a legislature update from last session. Our Montana legislature meats every other year.

montana: Flathead Valley Weekly Update: March 26, 2010 - 03/25/10 11:14 PM
Rain needed in NW Montana. With a low snow pack and less than normal rain, we need some precipitation. To avoid summer forest fires and water the crops, hope it starts falling soon. Our annual rainfall is only 16" a year and we are below normal so far. I'm not complaining about the warm spring days throughout March, BUT don't want fires for the summer.
I took a CRS 111 class last Friday on Short Sales and Foreclosures. Very informative. I now have earned the SFR designation through the National Association of Realtors. I have previously worked on short … (0 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley Weekly Update: July 31, 2009 - 07/31/09 11:01 AM
The end of another month of wonderful summer weather and fun has come to a close.
Alpinetheaterproject.org just closed up the hysterical play, Spelling Bee. Great fun! Waiting for the big musical to open in a couple of weeks. Check out their web site for details.
2 of our favorite actors from Whitefish, have a weekly radio program on www.whitefishradio.com, North by Northwest. Gives an idea of what is going on in the valley and is homey and fun to listen to.
As I write this, I am in Denver for 4 days of intensive real estate classes to learn ideas … (0 comments)

montana: Flathead Valley Update: Ocotober 14, 2008 - 10/14/08 01:27 AM
Sunshine continues but it is much colder. Finally had a hard frost so time to get the garden emptied out. Logan Pass in Glacier National Park has remained open for the most part. Snow is clearly visible from the valley in the mountains. Big Mountain even had snow on the top last week. It didn't stick around, but still, ski season is on the way.
I had some clients in town over the weekend from Chicago. They just could not get over our natural beauty here. We covered a good part of the valley looking at homes on acreage. … (1 comments)
