Tomorrow is the day. After volunteering last year, there is NO way I would ever be a participant. This year 5000 people are signed up to take part in a physical and mental challenge designed by the founder of Spartan. The course is naturally hilly and tough, add man made obstacles = a truly difficult day. Last year it was held later but this year it is the weekend of May 10. Earlier and probably cooler. Last year it was HOT for the participants. Having volunteered last year and seen the course up close, better be ready for battle if you are participating! Wow, what an event! Last Saturday approximately 4300 people participated in this amazing obstacle race. 4.9 miles, 2200 ft elevation gain, and 15+ obstacles. I volunteered to help out. Arriving at 6:30am last Saturday, my husband and myself learned we were at a water station at the 4 mile mark. We thought, how hard can that be? On the very bumpy pickup ride through the course to our station, the driver told us this was the hardest job. We road in the back of the pickup, holding on for dear life through ruts, mud and over the terrain to our station. … (2 comments)

Many choices of things to do this weekend. Alpine Theater Project http://atpwhitefish.org/ is opening Les Miserables School Edition this weekend in Whitefish. Taking students from area schools and having them act in a well known play. We went to a school edition play a couple of years ago and were very impressed!
http://www.conradmansion.com/DeathByChocolate.html Conrad Mansion is a historical home in Kalispell. This fund raiser is great fun. A mystery play performed throughout the mansion with the guests participating.
