Lackawaxen PA: Where Two Rivers MeetSettled in a valley in Upper Delaware Region, the sleepy village of Lackawaxen PA is found where the Delaware and Lackawaxen Rivers come together.  In fact, “Lackawaxen,” is a Lenape name meaning “The Place where Two Rivers Meet”.  Leni-Lenape and Seneca tribes used the land along these two rivers for hunting and trading. Afterward, the first Europeans arrived and settled the area in 1770.

Previously, I wrote a blog article on Lackawaxen - a quiet and secluded area in Pike County, by the Delaware and Lackawaxen Rivers. Similar villages nearby are Rowland, Shohola, and Greeley. Lackawaxen and the surrounding area has a lot of appeal for those wanting to "get away", with a bit of rustic mountain charm of days gone by. Fishing and hunting enthusiasts find the areas around Lackawaxen to be a paradise.
