Lake Wallenpaupack has public access points. There are also several marinas around the lake for would-be boaters to rent a seasonal boat slip. Some homes have boat slips with them through their homeowner association. Boat slip included means the slip transfers with the home. Boat slip available means that access to a slip is granted but there is a waiting list - you will have to wait your turn. The slip does not transfer with the home.

As I scan the Hot Sheet (the newest listings from the Pike / Wayne MLS), I often roll my eyes at the remarks attached to homes for sale in the Lake Wallenpaupack region. "Seller says sell!" (Really? Why else would the seller list their home? Just to have random people walking through their home, peering into their closets and opening kitchen cabinets to see what kind of stuff they have?) When selling your home, you do not need to spend a lot of money to make your home appealing to buyers. Many times it is as simple as GETTING RID of clutter and doing something simple like this: a new bed spread and a few accessories. I have a feeling though, that simply eliminating the clutter from off the top of the dresser, window sills, and night stands (and under the bed) and making the bed NEATLY would have still had a dramatic effect. Geo W. Childs State Park is located off Silver Lake Road and Park Road in Dingmans Ferry. It is free to the public, and is a marvel to behold! This delightful Pocono property was donated in the early 1900's by the widow of George W. Childs, with the condition that there always be public access. The park is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This is, by far, one of my favorite spots in Pike County. The walking path is fairly easy with some moderate challenges. I just wanted to share this picture with you today. I was out with my colleague Bea Poster and we were talking about how lovely the Lake Wallenpaupack area is, day or night. My husband's family came here years ago from the St. Louis area - there's just something about Northeast PA / Lake Wallenpaupack that makes you want to put down some kind of roots. This is one of my favorite local pictures...I took it the other night as I was on my way home from the office....enjoy!

Autumn is in the air in Northeast PA. Acutally, it's here - the chilly weather came sooner than usual, prompting the leaves to begin their annual transformation from lucious shades of green to more vivid reds, oranges, and yellows. I do love autumn - I love going to Ritter's for fresh pressed apple cider...every year, we head out to Roba's Family Farm to check out Bunnyville, jump in hay, enjoy the pig races, and of course, wander around the corn maze.
