The Arboretum is located in the San Bernardino National Forest and features a animal - footprint trail, scenic nature trail and is free to the public. The U.S. Forest Service does require an Adventure Pass be displayed on all vehicles using the parking lot, the cost for this is $5 or you can purchase an annual pass for $30.

A mountain oasis full of natural beauty. At Heaps Peak Arboretum you will be awe struck by the exquisite botanical gardens full of diversity. There is nothing like escaping into nature along the Sequoia Trail at the Arboretum. The trail boasts of tree's like the Arizona Cypress, Sugar Pines, Black Oaks, White Fir, Dogwoods and so many more. Wildflowers create a picturesque view while foot bridges extend over seasonal creeks and horseshoe springs. With plenty of benches along the trail, you can sit, relax and observe the wildlife, especially the birds.

Today, September 11, 2010, here in the San Bernardino Mountains, our HEAPS PEAK ARBORETUM is having a NATIVE PLANT SALE. 9:00 AM.
Don't just stop to buy plants, though..."take a hike" on the Sequoia Trail, gentle & less than a mile and it's accessible to the physically challenged. Since the "steps" have been removed it is easier for all visitors to walk, especially families with young children in strollers and the elderly.

This Labor Day Weekend, here in the San Bernardino Mountains, our HEAPS PEAK ARBORETUM will be having a NATIVE PLANT SALE.
