A little history about the company I am proud to be affiliated with, WINDERMERE REAL ESTATE John W. Jacobi founded WINDERMERE REAL ESTATE in 1972, when he purchase of an eight-agent office in the Seattle neighborhood of WINDERMERE, WA. The company headquarters are still at this location. In 1989, The Windermere Foundation was created to help fight homelessness. This is a non-profit organization. 1993, WINDERMERE REAL ESTATE grows to 100 offices. They expand to Idaho, Western Canada and Oregon. 2000, the company opens its first affiliates in AZ, Montana and Nevada. Lake Arrowhead really is close to "everything!" We're only an hour from Palm Springs and a little over an hour to Los Angeles or Orange County---and that is by automobile. But what about by plane? Lake Arrowhead ALSO has an airport and some folks can "FLY UP FOR AIR." However, the airport is private and, at this time, you need to have permission from the owner, MARK BAYLEY. LAKE ARROWHEAD AIRPORT has hopes of becoming a premier transportation provider for the Lake Arrowhead Resort area, eventually. I LOVE discovering the history about an area...and Lake Arrowhead has plenty. The first bit of history is its name: Originally Lake Arrowhead was called "Little Bear Valley." Why valley was tagged on, I have no idea.
