I love the beauty that old Churches display. While old and sometimes tattered they still carry the same messages of hope, love and peace. Recently, I was shown this photo of a beautiful old Church surrounded by the brilliance of lavender. It reminded me of how lavender is referenced throughout the Bible only its bible bearing name is spikenard, which is actually Greek for lavender. Spikenard was used as one of the eleven herbs for the incense of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.
