Adopt a road programs have been in use across North America for many years. Several times a year companies, local groups and organizations, even private individuals who have signed on as volunteers go out and clean the litter from the various roadsides and public right-of-ways.
Volunteer clean up programs are not new to Uxbridge as witnessed by the Successful Clean Up Day by a group of South Balsam residents spearheaded by Sarah Pratt.

Uxbridge Burn permits are issued annually and can be obtained at the Uxbridge Municipal office at 51 Toronto St South or at the Fire Hall at 17 Bascomb St. during normal business hours.
Burn permits are required for all outdoor fires including recreational fires.
Fees:
regular permit $25.00 oversize permit $75.00 recreational permit no charge Over size fire sites require an inspection by the Fire Department prior to the issuing of a permit.
