School Bus Rules, Regulations and Safety Tips
Uxbridge has a large rural population and busing to school on a daily basis is a way of life for many of our children.
The Labour Day weekend traditionally heralds a return to school with over 800,000 throughout Ontario riding a school bus to school.
Here are a few points to remember regarding school bus safety and the highway traffic act regarding school buses.
IT IS THE LAW

he Studio Tour is finished for another year but there is still plenty to come with two and a half weeks left to go in the Celebration. Today marked the start of the Juried Art Show with paintings,sculpture,photography and more on display along with the Children's Art Show showcasing what some of our talented public school children are capable of at the Uxbridge Township Council Chambers (hours Sept 25th to Oct 5 10am to 6pm free).

Given birth 23 years ago over a single scotch malt in a local Pub the Uxbridge Celebration of the Arts has always been "volunteer driven and supported by sponsors and donations"
The major annual project of the group brings The Uxbridge Arts Community together for a month long Fall Festival of the Arts. What a great evening the weather was perfect! What a way to end the season for the Thursday night "CRUZ" here in Uxbridge. Since my husband retired we have had more time, at the same time, to enjoy some of life's little pleasures. Time to enjoy the local "CRUZ" for instance.

With picture perfect weather we have just had one of the best weekends on record for the summer.
 

All is quite now, as the sun very slowly settles and softly dips behind the hills, as we enjoy one last sunset sitting on the beach in Muskoka. The rainy weather of the early weeks of summer have faded into fond memories of a time of watching the children frolic in the water, a time of relaxation, a time of rejuvenation and expectation, and preparation.

In 1990 Jack and Linda Hutton honeymooned on Prince Edward Island where they learned that L.M. Montgomery holidayed for two weeks in Bala in 1922 and based her book "The Blue Castle" upon her time there. This book was written during the time she lived in Leaskdale.
Jack and Linda Bought the former tourist home where Montgomery had her meals after hearing it might be torn down. Upon purchasing the 1909 home they spent a year restoring it to the 1920's era. Since it opened in 1992 as a Museum that has attracted close to 90,000 visitors.
