The housing market continues its slow recovery without the aid of the now expired tax credit. Sales are slower but growing, and prices remain on par with last year's levels. Interest rates also hit a new historic low, a major factor in helping keep mortgage payments low, which is expected to spur sales.
The economy shone a bit brighter in September. It grew faster during the second quarter than expected, and companies continued to hire. Experts believe there is now less risk of a double-dip recession.

We all know the cycle will end, but I know so many people who are struggling and really need a break.  In July Comerica reported an uptick in the MICHIGAN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY INDEX but George Fulton lays out the forecast at the bottom of this page.  After all, we want to know when the struggling will end and this depends on jobs.

According to Lawrence Kestenbaum, Washtenaw County’s Clerk and Register of Deeds, 138 Sheriff’s Deeds were recorded by Washtenaw County’s Register of Deeds office this September.
“So far this year we’ve recorded a total of 1,122 Sheriff Deeds, compared to 1,103 and 890 in the same months of 2008 and 2009, respectively.  This year we’ve recorded 26 percent more than in the first nine months of 2009.”  To find Washtenaw County foreclosures, click here.
