nc: The Rules of Being A Buyer - 10/06/08 10:02 AM
This is an open post to all you consumers.  That is right!  The general public.
These are the Golden Rules of Being a buyer.
When you decided who to use as your agent, email them.  Be honest.  Tell them that you want to do a little web searching on your own.  Ask them for a sight recommendation.  Most of the agents will have what we call and IDX data push.             What is an IDX Data Push?
Essentially, MLS is updated daily on their website.  As a consumer, this will provide you with               the  most current data, pictures, and information on properties in … (1 comments)

Greenville, North Carolina is alive with Sarah Palin!  She will be here TOMMOROW!
Last Thurday after the Vice Presidenial debate, it was officially announced that Sarah Palin was coming to Greenville.  One of my collegues sent an email Friday at 9:30 saying that the line to put your name on the list was an hour long.
It must have been luck!  I walked right up and didn't put my name on a list.  I got my tickets.  About 20 of us from the office are camping out tommorow about 1:00.  We want excellent seats.
I have decided to bring my six and … (77 comments)

nc: As the Foreclosure Turns - 09/17/08 01:31 AM
I got a call from someone yesterday that I just had to share.  This is my life, aka "As the Foreclosures Turn"
The man introduces himself.  He is the debtors "real estate advisor."  I had done a short sale for someone he knew and needed my help.
He is a self proclaimed real estate guru.  He can spot a good house when he sees one.  I allow him to talk.  This is his story:
First, Let me tell you about the house.  It was purchased in 2006 for $20,000.  It was a foreclosure.
"I have developed a unique purchasing system based on my … (6 comments)

nc: East Carolina School of Nursing-Largest in the State! - 09/15/08 01:34 AM
With a nursing shortage expected to intensify in the coming years, East Carolina University's College of Nursing enrollment has jumped nearly 40 percent since 2004.
For this fall semester, the college has about 1,200 students enrolled in classes, making it the largest nursing program in North Carolina.
There are now more than 2,600 registered nurses working in the state who graduated from ECU, according to the Sheps Center, a health services research facility based in Chapel Hill.
"We've grown phenomenally," said Sylvia T. Brown, acting dean of the College of Nursing. "We have steadily increased our enrollment, but it eventually gets … (0 comments)

nc: Help me Whip Farmville, North Carolina into Shape - 09/09/08 11:27 PM
This year a long term Parks and Recreation study was done for Farmville.  I have not read the study but had a conversationwith Farmville's town manager, Richard Hicks.  (Richard is my father.)

There are some key points that I would like bring out of the study:
1.  Farmville is expected to experience great growth in the next 5-10 years.  The population currently is about 4,500.  They anticipate the population to surge to around 7,000!
2.  The town needs to improve the parks and recreation department as a whole.  One of the major takeaways was Farmville needs a wellness center, for … (4 comments)

nc: What will History Books call the times we are living? - 09/08/08 01:29 AM
I was fortunate enough to remember my Great Grandmother as a child.  At the age of seven and five, my brother and I thought that she was the epitomy of crazy.  She would give us a dollar and tell us to hold onto it.  We might need it someday.  Her favorite stories were about the Great Depression.  We thought that listening to her was worst than the depression.
Now I am thinking we need to listen!
In school. we learned that the stock market crash of 1929 started the great depression. We all had to memorize that Black Tuesday was October … (17 comments)

nc: Want something inexpensive to do around Greenville? - 08/24/08 01:15 PM
If you are a parent, every Saturday you wake up and think, "What am I going to do today with the kids?"  After months of going to the beach and mountains, they are just not satisfied sitting at home!
Gas is so expensive right now that I have begun to look at short afternoon trips.  First, it keeps my house clean.  Second, the kids enjoy an adventure.  Lastly, I get to spend some good times with my kids!
This weekend our adventure took my family to Goldsboro, North Carolina.  It is about 35 miles/40 minutes from Greenville. There is a wonderful cloth outlet there … (0 comments)

Hey- I saw your ad here on Craigslist. I was wondering if you post here very often because I do a lot of marketing on here and I'm always looking to network with other marketers.  I find the way for me to help others is by capturing what others are doing and seeing how I can be of service to them showing what I do. Maybe we can help each other. … (17 comments)
