Back in December there seemed to be a surge of oceanfront single-family homes on the market along Kauai's north shore (between Wainiha and Haena). Now, a surge means 8 homes when previously there had been maybe one here and one there. Now, the # has increased slightly.
For those looking for desireable oceanfront property along Kauai's magnificent north shore, here’s some info on the latest listings currently on the Kauai Multiple Listing Service. Happy new year. Here on the north shore of Kauai (near the Haena area), my boyfriend and I ended 2008 with a bang - literally! At 12:30am on Dec. 31, 2008, our house was struck by lightning. Talk about a frightening experience.
Kauai may be known for rainy winters, but thunder and lightning hasn't been a commonplace occurrence until the last year (maybe 2). This night we slept comfortably until there was the loudest explosion I ever heard. I compare it to what I imagine a bomb would sound like. Yes, it is possible to find good food for under $20.00 on Kauai. While it may not include a waiter or waitress or even a bartender, there are still good grinds to be had.
A friend of mine in Colorado actually sent me a link to an LA Times article which revealed the results of a restaurant survey they did on Kauai. The weather on the north shore of Kauai has been stellar lately. Those who love to kayak the Na Pali Coast still had the opportunity to do so last weekend before a swell moved in on Sunday afternoon. Then, just across the street from me, at what we call "Ike's beach" (for my famous golden retriever), near the Y camp (Camp Naue), neighbors - young and old alike - were out having a blast on their boogie boards, paddle boards and surf boards.
