On average, the cost of homeowners insurance in Florida has gone up by 32.5% since 2016. This is more than three times higher than the average rate change than the rest of the country experienced during this time (10.9%). More and more of my clients are analyzing the pros and cons of self-insuring instead of carrying a wind insurance policy.
