san francisco bay area: Marin County, CA Home Sales Charts for 2001 - 2009 - 01/12/10 11:09 AM
As you see in the charts below the average sales price was pretty flat all year throughout 2009, but way down from 2007.  The volume, the sheer number of homes selling in Marin has been pretty sluggish as well.  However, we did have a small year-end rally.  :)

December closings are typically fewer than most other times of year, but in 2009 December was actually on of two "high" months for the year.
You can literally see when the free money stopped flowing in September 2007.  I am optimistic that 2010 will be better than 2009.

san francisco bay area: Marin County, CA Average Sales Price and Number of Homes Sold (chart) 2001 - present - 12/19/09 03:24 AM
The charts below tell the story the way only pictures can.  The average sales price in Marin County is now comparable to what it was in 2004.

The number of homes selling has been way down all year with an ever so slight uptick in the past two months.
I am optimistic about 2010.  Stay tuned for updates.
