Hello friends. I took my previous vlog here about 2 weeks ago and love this location. This is Folsom Lake in the background, near my house. Many people have been making the analogy about the lake rising and home prices rising. Well it is true that values are going up a little bit but I wanted to address specifically an article that was published locally last week about median home prices in sac have gone up double digits. Roseville, Loomis, Auburn, Lincoln, Rocklin, Folsom, Carmichael Citrus Heights, Antelope, Elk Grove, in short, most of Placer, Sacramento or El Dorado Counties, the answer is pretty much the same. As a top producing Realtor, I am frequently asked, "Is now the best time to Buy (or Sell as the case may be) our house". While the worldwide economy has made predicting the bottom of the market a bit, well, unpredictable, there are certain absolutes we can still count on. At parties, church, or in general conversation, I am frequently asked, "Do you think home prices will continue to drop?" My answer is typically this, "If you plan to occupy this house for five or more years, you will most likely break even or make money. If less than five years, you might lose a bit, especially if purchasing a home over $450,000." Obviously a quick answer does not account for location. Roseville, Rocklin Lincoln, Loomis, Folsom, El Dorado Hills, or Elk Grove might fair better than older sections of the Sacramento Valley.
