maryland: I Took The Plunge - Unflattering Photos - 02/15/10 01:22 AM
A couple of Blog posts ago I put the question out there:Since home buyers love to look at photos on the Internet and many buyers eliminate homes without photos is it appropriate to put photos of homes that need lots and lots of TLC?
The trend of the comments was:  Yes, it was a good idea to put photos of the house as it exists in the marketing materials.  The concept is to keep from wasting the time of both the potential buyer and the Realtor.  Who wants to go to a house that needs a lot of work when the … (11 comments)

maryland: "Just Say No"...to a Soccer Stadium In Prince George's County - 02/19/09 01:31 AM
In the ever more desperate search for someone, somewhere to build a brand new, shiny stadium for his personal, professional soccer team, DC Unitied, mult-millionaire Victor MacFarlane has come to Prince George's County.
Although both Washington, DC (the DC in DC United) and Virgina have turned down the deal, Vicotr MacFarlane knew where to turn when the chips were down -  good ol' Prince George's and the Maryland Stadium Authority.
Let's set aside, for the moment that we are currently in an economy that has alternately been called a "disaster" or a "catastrophe".  Let's leave aside, for the moment, that FedEx … (2 comments)

maryland: Free sites and a good VA - 10/09/07 09:41 AM
I need to admit that I am not the most tech savvy, internet surfin' Realtor out there so when I heard about Postlets and how they syndicate to lots of sites I was impressed.
However, because of Active Rain and a wonderful VA my listings have been posted to no fewer than 10 additional free sites.  My guess is that some of the sites are pretty obscure but, hey, anyway to get the listing posted to one more site and my URL out in one more place is OK in my book especially if someone else is doing it for me.

maryland: Yours, Trulia - 10/05/07 04:29 AM
I recently became aware of Trulia -- a real estate website geared mostly to consumers -- and was amazed at some of the postings by my fellow real estate professionals.
Trulia allows consumers to ask questions of one sort or another and this one question posted in a zip code I have a listing in wondered if this was a good time to sell.  Imagine my surprise when 4 out of the 5 responses by "Real Estate Pros" (as defined by Trulia) to the consumers quesitons were not to sell if he [the Seller] didin't have to.
There is no question that it … (2 comments)
