buckeye: The Transit of Venus
- 06/09/12 02:59 AM
The Transit of Venus , literally a once in a life time event, was observed here in Verrado as well as other parts of the world. This , coupled with the two astronomical events last week, the annular eclipse and the partial lunar eclipse, made this one of the best weeks for observing and joining with neighbors here in Verrado. The planet's passing between us and the sun, served many other astronomical purposes. Confirming sizes and distances of planets in our solar system as well as refining further the discovery of planets beyond our solar system to name a few. Viewing

buckeye: Verrado Annular Eclipse
- 05/31/12 01:14 AM
A Special Verrado Sunset on Sunday, May 20, 2012 was historic. It had been eighteen years since an annular eclipse had been visible in the United States. The residents of Verrado, Arizona were among the privileged that witnessed this rare event. The eclipse was visible along a narrow band running through the southwestern U.S. including Arizona with a partial eclipse falling south of the Grand Canyon. Several of us got together and had a solar eclipse party at a neighbor's home which turned out to be an unforgettable event. The next astronomical rarity for Verrado and the U.S. will be

buckeye: Park 51 Verrado
- 10/29/09 03:00 AM
Verrado, nestled at the base of the White Tank Mountains 25 miles west of Phoenix, boasts a culture reminiscent of home town USA. An Informal lifestyle, likeable neighbors, and a very friendly environment sets it apart from other communities in the valley. All of the homes in Verradoare no more than a stone's throw from a beautiful park. Fifty parks to be exact, plan fully designed for maximum enjoyment and strategically placed throughout the community. A new place just opened on Verrado's downtown Main Street. It's a coffee shop called "Park 51" to take on the status of the 51st park

buckeye: Distressed in Buckeye, Arizona
- 10/01/09 05:44 AM
Distressedamania .... I don't think it's a real word. As a matter fact I know it's not. You can't find it in a dictionary or Wikipedia but it does exist. I define it as a condition caused by the overly active, highly aggressive, center focused buyer seeking distressed properties at an incredibly high value for an incredibly low price. Here in the west valley of Phoenix, Buckeye in particular, I believe it's spreading at an unimaginable rate. It's like the "best kept secret of our time". Homes selling for $70,000 to $80,000 with swimming pools, on golf courses that not too

buckeye: WE ARE BUCKEYE
- 08/14/09 04:45 AM
No it has nothing to do with a football team or a company that will convert your Harley into a three wheel trike type motorcycle but a process launched around 10 months ago to help create a strategic plan for the city of Buckeye, Arizona . I attended the third of six meetings being held throughout the city at the Raven in Verrado. I was impressed, not only from the standpoint of a resident but as a real estate professional working primarily in the west valley. Not often have I had the opportunity to be a part of a

buckeye: Preparing for the Wave
- 07/01/09 04:40 AM
Phoenix is loaded with REO and Short Sales, particularly the west valley (Glendale, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, and Verrado) where homeowners got hit the hardest with the downturn in the housing market. Traditional purchases are a rarity anymore. I just did my first traditional purchase with a buyer since June of 2008. All of my transactions have been with bank owned properties and short sales since then. It had been so long that I found myself rethinking the traditional purchase process. I must say, however, it was a pleasant change. Like many agents, I believe I've been sort of encouraged
