mgsd: Great New Program for Freshman in Mooresville NC - 08/28/15 02:10 PM
Mooresville High School has a new program beginning this year to help ease the transition for new in-coming Freshman students!  It's called Link Crew and it is designed to help students ease into High School and be less intimidated. 
The program - which will last the entire freshman year begins with a Freshman Orientation and tours of the campus and will continue with events and activities throughout the year including social events and  test prep events.
The Freshman are being mentored by upper classmen who are Juniors and Seniors.

Mooresville Schools are the proud owners of the #2 spot among all High Schools in North Carolina! It's been a seven year steady climb but the hard work has definitely paid off after reaching #2 in the entire state! In 2013, 93.4 percent of students who started ninth grade in 2009-10 completed high school in four years or less. A year ago, the MGSD ranked third at 90.3 percent. And, in 2006, the first year the state reported four-year graduation rates, MGSD only graduated 64 percent of its students.

President Barack Obama was so impressed by the Mooresville Graded School District that he stopped by to see first hand for himself and learn more in-depth about their Technology Immersion Program in their schools.
 
He arrived at the Mooresville Middle School gymnasium shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday afternoon to a roaring reception that was from a crowd almost certainly made up of more Republicans than Democrats.
It was the first official visit by a sitting president to Iredell County in more than a century.
