Just announced this week, the Air Force has picked Barksdale AFB as the future home for the newly formed Global Strike Command. Barksdale AFB is located in Bossier City in southern Louisiana. Bossier City and Shreveport are two cities that make up one good sized metroplex. The Red River runs between Bossier City and Shreveport. The Global Strike Command will bring temporary jobs now and should bring close to 1,000 permanent jobs to Barksdale Air Force Base. The housing market in Bossier City and Shreveport have remained strong even though most of the rest of the country has seen some decline. … (0 comments)
